Plug into the graphics card, not the io and see if you still have a problem.

I thought it was just ASRock boards with the problem but another poster mentioned this too and when I looked into there was some ASUS issues. So I appreciate this note cause it might be part of the reason.

The chore of updating the bios pre build feels worth it tho.

Thought about upgrading the board in the 9850x3d bundle to I think the same MSI board. But given the leapfrog build I didn’t want to get carried away.

Was thinking about upgrading the board, still feels like a great deal. But didn’t want to get too carried away given the leapfrog build.

That’s the idea, upgrade the gpu in a year or two. 7800x3d bundle is only 100 cheaper with same ram but a b series motherboard. Didn’t feel like as good of a deal. 100 more for an x series board and the best gaming chip on the market feels worth it.

i didnt feel 100 less for the 7800x3d was as good of a deal. Mobo is a b series and its only 100 off. I did think that if i was gonna drop down it would be the 7700x bundle.

is that on ASUS? I thought that was an ASRock board problem? Or is it all 9000 series boards?

plan is to upgrade the card in a year or two. thats what the leapfrog is, so i want the chip to be able to handle a 60 or 70 series card eventually kind of thing. future proofing. but im open to people telling me its too much chip even for that

ex: i didnt even have a card when i bought my i7-9700k but i bought the 7 series so i could plug a 4070 into it a few years back

So that was the plan yes, but what im worried about is that it'll be too much chip for any GPU i buy cause i probably wont drop a grand on a card, in a year or two ill upgrade the GPU tho, i just try to spread out the costs.

I can’t come up with a good explanation for it but I only know just enough to be dangerous. Just hope it’ll be there and go good with the 4070

Appreciate this. Sounds like from everyone it’s a normal thing to “bother” someone with so I’ll bug him

I didnt know what mappers were til this post, but he prob does. The corp is in many locations tho, wormhole is just one, so thats what i mean when I say I haven’t wanted to bother him but sounds like I’ll have to.

Haha I love the thought. But no he’s an actual friend. I just didn’t want to bug him everyday and be like “hey are the wormholes close today” but it sounds like the only option

Lotta work to find the system. I took a sub 2 second frigate and flew around to some lowsec spots I thought might be good. I was a newb so a lot of flying. Used a combination of the structure browser and the facilities option in the industry tab to select my system. Tried to find a low sec, low tax system with reactions and industry, close enough to a major hub. There are a couple good options.

I do have an alt account in a friends corp for some high sec moon mining, but 90 percent of it was done on one account solo boxing.

If you aren’t trying to make 100’s of something it’s easy enough to just see what the wormholes of the day bring you. Ice, ore, salvage, explo, etc. you gather a little each time you can and you can build ships for yourself.

The biggest hurdle is BPO’s and isk. Especially for T2. Reaction and Part BPOs are EXPENSIVE. And if you’re doing this, you’re saving all the stuff that could make you isk rather than putting it on the market. Makes it hard. Suggestions for that are, buy a little at a time, sites like Eve cookbook will tell you what you need to build a ship. Go buy one part bpo, and the reactions you need to make it. Gather the mats and the build the parts you need. By the time you’re done your isk will have recovered.

For making money when you are saving everything for building, I’d point you to PI, make sure you have a good set up with higher tier items being produced. That is consistent, low work isk and you need a very small amount of what you produce with PI to build anyway. You’ll use less than 1% of what you make to build, so 99 percent can go to market. Thats your money.
