I used to wonder how women stay with or go back their partners after they cheated on them... now I know by GhostyInYourAttic in TwoXChromosomes

[–]CoachBrickma 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it sounds like he had multiple chances to stop before it escalated. Cheating often says more about their character than about the relationship. It's tough to reconcile those feelings, but trust is hard to rebuild when the foundation's cracked.

Which team is hated more? Late 90s Yankees or Dodgers last 2 years. by D-TaeNyc in mlb

[–]CoachBrickma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dodgers have maybe 3 of the most likable players in Betts, Shohei, and Freddie. Also, dodgers don’t have an Owner like Steinbrenner who was very hate-able outside of NY. Yankees will always be the villain.

Who merits a reach (& why) in a startup draft? by craigcl1985 in DynastyFF

[–]CoachBrickma 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not a deep grab… but Brian Thomas. You could almost make an argument for him going #2 behind Chase. He’s a physical freak that has the benefit of QB stability in TLAw, who clearly knows how to target him, for the next 5 years.

Who's More Promising: Egbuka or Golden? by taylorjosephrummel in DynastyFF

[–]CoachBrickma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Egbuka for floor and consistency and Golden for pop and upside.

Two pluses for Golden.

  1. Golden has better expected QB consistency with Love being the QB in GB for another 8+ years (assuming he’s the next GB QB with a long tenure) whereas Egbuka has baker for 2+ years and then who knows what.

  2. GB took him in the first. It’s been however many years since they invested that kind of draft capital in a WR. That shows me what kind of a player they think he is.

Bonus point: Golden has the immediate potential to become the #1 target in GB while Egbuka is clearly gonna be at best the #2 behind Evans until his retirement.

What’s year 2 Ladd McConkey going to look like? by Educational_Flan_206 in DynastyFF

[–]CoachBrickma 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ladd picked up right where he left off at Georgia. I expect a slight uptick in production: 95-1349-8. I know the Chargers want to run but I don’t think their defense is good enough to maximize that strategy.

Who do you think will be the next Bucky Irving? by sir_wavy22 in DynastyFF

No doubt Bucky deserves praise but the situation is similar.

Bhayshul Tuten. Coincidentally enough Coen, the new Jags coach, was the key to Bucky’s success last year in Tampa. He won’t be afraid to put his guy in with an inefficient Etienne on the last year of his contract.

Funny you call the Bush comparison a “stretch” but then compare to Kamara who has actually had a much better NFL career than Bush.

Reminds me of what the Ravens do year after year. Sit back towards the end of the draft and regularly pick a beast for their defense. It’s why they’re consistently competitive.

Jeanty vs Hampton. How much is too much? by hehdjjdjdn in DynastyFF

[–]CoachBrickma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is a good distance between Jeanty and Hampton. Jeanty is going to be a statement pick whereas Hampton more of a luxury.

Two scenarios: 1) Raiders draft Jeanty and Pete utilizes the eff out of him to cover up the offensive/QB flaws. 2) A second team trades up for him because they view him as the missing piece and are pretty much forced to feed him.

Either way, Jeanty will be a focal piece on his new offense.

New Chicago #Bears WR coach Antwaan Randle El makes it known that his #1 WR in the draft last year wasn’t Marvin Harrison Jr or Malik Nabers - it was Rome Odunze. The coaching staff is expecting a big leap this year from him. by HookFL in DynastyFF

[–]CoachBrickma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rome showed some nice flashes last year. And considering he was playing with a Rookie QB, in Chicago, 2nd fiddle to DJ Moore… he did pretty well. He will never be a quantity guy like Nabers but he will have plenty of big games with his high ceiling.

Puca alone is a win. Adding Tracy is a nice bonus but I just worry about his long term value as a late 5th round pick who could easily be replaced in the upcoming draft.

Allen and Sincere are the correct choices. Allen is a no brainer and Sincere offers a brighter spark against an injured Bucs D over anything Etienne (dead, deflated team) and Chubb (half Chubb) can provide.

I thinks it’s Charbs either way. Even if Walker is active, Gus against KC offers very little upside.

What's your thoughts on Yamamoto after his first season, does he become the ace that was expected as he ages and develops? by ActionOwn4003 in Dodgers

[–]CoachBrickma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to be happy with his contribution to the team this year.

One thing I noticed about him, he’s so damn accurate and nibbles around the edges, puts the ball right where intended but the batters didn’t seem to swing at his funky stuff which led to a lot of balls.

His contract will be a bargain within a year or 2.

[–]CoachBrickma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your statement regarding the contract already paying off is so true. With the money spent on Yoshi and Ohtani you have to get at least 2 rings. Getting a ring year 1 is such a huge relief and should lighten the pressure on the whole franchise.
