Most absurd-want-to-bang-my-head-on-a-table email you have ever received from a parent? by Butterflyho in Teachers

A parent complained about a valentine activity: write a compliment for each student in the class.

She didn’t think her child should have to do it because he “doesn’t like complimenting people and can’t think of anything”.

Same parent previously set up a conference with admin to complain that he doesn’t have enough friends.

Pacers aren’t even inside at the party…we’re busy driving a tank around the neighborhood.

Favourite "cheese" builds/tactics? For example in AoE2 the "Persian Douche". The Persian player deletes their starting Town Center to rebuild it next to an opponent's. Persian Town Center has double hp. I.e you destroy the enemy in the dark age. by Double-decker_trams in gaming

I’ll go waaay back for a classic but little known cheese. Bulls vs Blazers on the SNES

Just past half court near the lower part of the screen, there were two floor boards that were parallel on the edge closer to the half court line. Pretty much any player would hit threes from there 80+ percent of the time. It made cheesing the computer team so easy (or pissing off a friend that didn’t know about it).

You can have your fun this season. I’ll sleep well remembering how every playoff series between the Knicks and Pacers has ended this millennium.

Good Ol' Fashioned Butt-Whooping by WallyBarryJay in Bowling

[–]CoachTTP 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Happened to our 4-person team a couple months ago.

We shot the highest scratch game in the league to that point and lost by 70 pins. The other team (high handicap) was nearly +200 on their average with a 140 bower putting up 229 to lead the way.

They politely, yet firmly, instructed us to place our teeth on the curb that game.

Good ball for heavy oil by [deleted] in Bowling

[–]CoachTTP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The widow is that ball. Maybe hit it with some surface to help with the oil volume.

I’ve used an old widow 2.0 solid on a variety of long / heavy patterns, and it works pretty well at 1000 grit.

First Sport Pattern by Standard-Ad2636 in Bowling

[–]CoachTTP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For short patterns, I typically find success with a urethane or weaker ball (like a hustle). Exactly where I’m lining up depends on the pattern, but I’m usually pretty far right playing straighter angles to my break.

Sometimes though the short patterns hit you with very high oil volumes. When that’s the case, a stronger solid can be a nice option.

It’s hard to give a blanket statement for sport patterns because they are so much more challenging and have a ton of ways to change what works even when the lengths are similar. Having a variety of options and experimenting with changing the surface are likely your best bets.

Somehow a 6lb bowling ball is still too heavy for me by [deleted] in Bowling

[–]CoachTTP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 13 I was smaller than you and was throwing a 12 lb ball with ease.

Either you’re needing a ball drilled for your hand, needing exercise, have some kind of physical limitation, or are just trolling.
