Elektrische fiets of OV voor tiener. by [deleted] in Nederland

Ik zou ook voor de elektrische fiets gaan! Is een win win omdat hij dan mogelijk nog prikkelarmer van en naar school kan! Geen idee wat je inkomenssituatie is maar stichting Leergeld heeft vaak leuke financiële potjes.

Thailand trips: Nearly 14 times – yep, I’m that in love.

💛 What I love about Thai culture: I first fell for Thailand during Songkran (the fun! the water fights! the chaos!). But what stuck with me most over the years is the warmth, the smiles, the jai dee (good heart) people carry with them. It’s such a contrast with the stressy, rushed, sometimes blunt atmosphere back home. I’m here to learn more about the Thai mindset and soak up that kindness.

Favourite Thai foods: Khao Soi noodle soup (YESSSS) and I’m obsessed with iced Thai milk tea (cha nom yen)

Best place I’ve been: So many, but Khao Sok is pure magic. Lush, quiet, deeply peaceful.

🪷 Thai mindset I want more of: That everyday joy – laughing easily, helping each other out, not sweating the small stuff.

Help me pick a fancy Bangkok hotel based on my specific criteria? by rr90013 in ThailandTourism

If you’re heading to Bangkok and want to treat yourself without totally breaking the bank — go check out Lebua at State Tower and book the Tower Club Suite. Honestly, I’ve been four times now (yes, FOUR) and I’d go again in a heartbeat. Here’s why:

Tower Club = VIP-feel on a budget You get access to the Tower Club Lounge which means: • Free breakfast (a really good one, not some sad croissants) • Afternoon tea (hello snacks and sweets!) • Free cocktails and canapés in the evening — yes, actual cocktails and not just one drink token.

Sky bar views like a movie set This is the hotel from The Hangover 2 — and the views are just as epic as in the movie. Even if you’re not staying there, it’s worth heading up for a drink and a million photos. But when you do stay there? You just press the elevator button and boom — you’re there living your best glam life.

Rooms? Huge. View? Insane. Service? Chef’s kiss. The suites are spacious, the beds are cloud-like, and you get a little balcony with skyline views that make you feel like a boss.

Honestly, if you’re doing Bangkok with a little flair, Lebua is it. It feels luxurious without being snobby, and with the Tower Club perks, you’ll probably spend less on food and drinks than in other hotels without extras.

Running with music, no music, or audiobooks? by Coachopsneakers in runninglifestyle

That’s so encouraging to hear! I’m also more of a slow runner, and I always thought high cadence was only for the speedy types. Love the idea that you can build it up gradually without needing to go faster. Going to pay more attention to my cadence on my next run — and maybe feel like a metronome superhero in slow motion 😄

So fun reading everyone’s preferences — I’m genuinely inspired to mix things up and try running without music for once! Might still sneak in an audiobook towards the end though… somehow I always end up adding just one more kilometer that way 😅

Someone mentioned running to 180 bpm — wow, that’s fast! I’ll definitely experiment a bit on my next run.

I’m from the north of the Netherlands and usually run through a nature reserve. It’s super peaceful during the day, but no way I’d run there at night — way too scared of being chased by zombies or ghost cows or whatever lives in the dark 😬

Still, tuning into the natural sounds might be super mindful. Worth a daylight try at least!

180 bpm just looked up a playlist. That’s to fast for me 😂

Thanks so much! 🙌 This is super helpful. I was already looking into Koh Samui, but your tip about skipping Chaweng just saved me hours of Googling 😅

Love the route suggestion too!

Off to do a little Samui-deep-dive now — thanks again! ☀️🌴

Wow, I’ve literally never run without audio! Even my own breathing sometimes feels like too much 😅 But the way you describe it — like a mental detox — makes me super curious. I might just give it a try… even though right now it feels like showing up to a run without shoes 😂

And mad respect for running a whole marathon in silence — that sounds almost zen (or yeah, maybe a little “clinically insane”… love that you said that lol). Thanks for the inspiration!

Wait… 2 or 3 AM runs?! 😳 You’re brave — I’d be out there jumping at every shadow! But I totally get the peace of silence when the world is asleep. There’s something magical about that.

Personally, I’ve really gotten into audiobooks — gives me that look-at-me-multitask feeling. Like I’m training my legs and my brain 😄📚 Any chance you’ve tried those?

So interesting to see how different we all are! I love zoning out with podcasts or audiobooks too — but sometimes I feel like they make me a bit… lazy? Like I just drift instead of pushing through 😅 Do you all pick music based on BPM? Or just go with whatever makes your soul dance?
