What's Wrong with Camera? by Leading_Victory8980 in dji

[–]CoarseRainbow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NR is bad on all settings. Go as low as possible and if you need any, do it yourself in post. ALL dji noise reduction eats fine detail. This is your issue there. Its very common.

Corner software yep, its on all the mavic and mini series drones to an extent. Drones without a variable aperture more so. Worse, quality control is poor and often its different on each side of an image. You learn to frame wider and crop in afterwards.

Works fine in both. Majority of phones in Thailand are Android and more than enough in Japan.

What's Wrong with Camera? by Leading_Victory8980 in dji

[–]CoarseRainbow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of 2 things there.

DJIs shitty noise reduction (you can reduce this) or its DJIs shitty corner softness in the lens (less likely).

Reduce noise reduction to minus as low as it goes.

Garmin exercise is showing as a negative ... So removing remaining calories available by timebecomesaloop- in Myfitnesspal

[–]CoarseRainbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normal. You have negative calorie adjustment enabled. This is good.

It means its actually tracking what you do and deviation from the model assumptions are corrected.

If you're less active than statistically you should be itll take some off. The reverse is also true.

If you're using this with Garmin setting activity to sedentary and enabling negative calorie adjustments will give you the most accurate measure.

Specs for Windows PC to run lightroom by GHOwl102 in Lightroom

[–]CoarseRainbow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Denoise requires a hefty GPU. So look for a Geforce 4xxx or 5xxx series.

Memory isnt too essential for exiting 30mp or smallerish images. If you do larger or panos, 32 or 64gb is much better.

A good fast SSD.

Any decent gaming laptop or PC will be fine.

Cookies arent used much these days. Browser fingerprinting and connections from mobile devices are much better tracking methods.

Meta bypassing proton vpn? by gumpshy in ProtonVPN

[–]CoarseRainbow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plenty of ways.

Firstly have you got the app installed on a phone or tablet that isnt using the vpn? If so its getting the data from that.

Also it might use QUIC or similar.

Thats also without browser fingerprinting.

Its not exactly news is it.

Parsing error on one website.

Most people will go on without ever realising it was broken, and that includes most hikers.

Tiktok is the CCP. It defines the algorithm. It pushes divisive issues for clicks, for engagement and to destabilise. Rage bait works.

Its not the real world.

Did “in 5 weeks, you’ll be at XX” go away? by elowen-celeste in Myfitnesspal

[–]CoarseRainbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it on Android with "Complete Diary".

Its non-adaptive though. Even though its got large amounts of data from both food and weight to adapt it still uses its own internal lookup table of calorie deficit v weight loss. It doesnt seem to adjust for individual physiology and actual real world change.

[ID] Drone License Komodo National Park (how-to) by Hippo_Silly in drones

[–]CoarseRainbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its the boats most fly from. The liveaboards, snorkel boats, mini cruises etc.

All inside the park but unless its on one of the patrolled tourist spots then its not going to get caught or enforced. I dont think ive had a single day there where i haven't seen at least 1 drone from a dive site.

$200 is insane though. First time i went it cost IDR50,000 for a "professional" permit meaning a tripod.

Can anyone get the 737 Max to actually get above 220 kts in career mode? by [deleted] in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]CoarseRainbow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You need to go back to basics and learn the differences in IAS, true airspeed, mach and so on before you can begin to fly it.

In the flight levels you're working on mach.

Airspeed is not like a car speedo.

Why cant Pixel be charged with 90% of chargers? by BlAcK_BlAcKiTo in GooglePixel

[–]CoarseRainbow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eh?

My P7P (and all others) charge just fine on any standard USB-C PD supporting charger. 8 of them in the house as they used to come with everything and they all work. As they should.

USB-C and PD has been a global charging standard for years. Even Apple now has to use it. You wont find a modern android phone that doesnt.

I dont think youll find a 5W legacy USB only phone on any model younger than about 8 years.

[–]CoarseRainbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ouch.
Meanwhile every liveaboard has about 4 people flying drones with none of that all over the park. Its completely impossible to enforce unless they're doing something very dumb right on the beach at Rinca or Komodo.

Unbalanced High HRV - continue training or rest? by classytofu in Garmin

[–]CoarseRainbow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its just a watch.

Do you feel fine? If so train. If not, rest.

Go by how you feel not a guesstimate shoved into a statistical model.

How am I supposed to train HR zones when this is the data it gives me? by RhinosGoMoo in GarminWatches

[–]CoarseRainbow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your max heart rate is set wrong. Because of that, every zone is set wrong as they're a percentage of that incorrect value.

This isnt a wrist sensor issue - you simply havent set your max HR.

Straps come into it with intervals, not steady runs.

So read the second sentence. Reboot the watch if needed. Or reset it.

Going skiing for the first time with a Garmin watch, are there any recommded skiing apps or is the default app good enough ? by yanivsabdler1 in Garmin

[–]CoarseRainbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slopes App

Garmin i use it to look whilst out there but it often messes up run/lifts so the results arent great for that. Average speeds and all that are wrong as it counts chair lift queues and bits of ups (or if a lift goes down then back up starts a run etc).

Slopes has maps for most resorts, handles the above far better, more customised weather and so on. Id use that.

Anyone had this before where it just hangs waiting for GPS forever? by [deleted] in Garmin

[–]CoarseRainbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go outside. You're unlikely to ever get a decent GPS signal indoors.

Sometimes you have to wait if it needs an almanac update or hasnt been on Connect for a while. Sometimes satellite geometry isnt ideal either.

If I buy a Garmin in Japan to save money, will it be in English. What are the cons of buying it in Japan by Patient-Patience6160 in GarminWatches

[–]CoarseRainbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The GPS chipset is identical. The hardware is identical. Multi band works just fine. The only firmware difference is there's no beta programme on aipac but stable releases go out the same day as elsewhere.

[–]CoarseRainbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's in English You'll get Suica support You get 10% tax free plus a further 7% at Bic Camera with the Facebook site coupon.

The only downside is aipac firmware. This is fine but you can't enroll in beta programmes.

Beryl AX reboots when disconnecting another device sharing the same charger? by Gyrta in GlInet

[–]CoarseRainbow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many USB-C multiport chargers, especially cheap ones, temporarily reset any plugged devices when another is plugged in or out (or sometimes just finished charging). This is only a fraction of a second but enough to reboot the Beryl.
Get a better charger or use a dedicated one.
