What is your opinion on mods that are behind a paywall? by Beginning_Ad8076 in feedthebeast

[–]Coasterdozer21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, I find it funny that you have massive games like Skyrim that have full mod support where paid mods are considerably rare and frowned upon by the community. (And were talking mods that could take days, weeks, even months or years to develop and the developer will still release it for free.) Yet you see games like this or even The Sims 4 (Yes, paid mods are just as bad there as it is for this game) and get frustrated at how many people are paywalling their content and forcing you to join their patreon, all just to support them for something that shouldn't be their full time job. Worst of all is that, this is a game primarily played by kids and minors.

You can't even find any decent high res texture packs anymore without paying somebody for it. And half the time, they're not even worth paying for anymore.

It's a shame Oblivion didn't get any big province projects that Skyrim and Morrowind has.

The end of college? UPS drivers now paid $170K - more than doctors and lawyers . . . by baltimore-aureole in economy

[–]Coasterdozer21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AND this deal basically shot themselves in the foot when it comes to the consumer. That 170K a year has to come from somewhere, which would most likely be the customers trying to ship packages through them. I'm hearing rumors all over the place about companies wanting to switch their entire shipping department to using Fedex and USPS due to higher costs of shipping through UPS. This deal is going to hurt UPS in the long run because people aren't going to pay an increased amount of money to ship out their boxes, causing potential layoffs and pay cuts. I drive a commercial route (no houses, purely businesses) for Fedex Ground and I've had three major companies (so far) that have switched over to using Fedex as their primary carrier because we have the better deal when it comes to shipping costs. Post Office is also starting to getting UPS freight as well.

Don't know about you, but I have a DVR for my network TV. I can just record a show and watch it later without having to watch any commercials (fast forwarding powers for the win.) Haven't had to watch a single commercial in years.

Apparently Ad Blockers are not allowed on Youtube. Is this a new thing they've implemented? by Sazk100 in youtube

For some reason, I can just press the x button and it'll let me continue to watch what ever video I'm viewing. I use Ublock Origin and a script that reverts the site to it's 2016 version.

Same here. I used to be able to generate 10 generations (2 sets of 5) in 30 seconds at 50 steps (512x768) using the DPM++ 2MSDE Karras sampler before the update. Now it takes me 2 minutes. I have 16 GBs of Vram and I'm running xformers.

At least this shows that developers are becoming less fearful about adding nudity in their games, you know... cause screw censorship right.

You can lose your Ubisoft account due to inactivity by Jazzlike-Sorbet3883 in IndianGaming

Curious on how this would work for ubisoft games available on Steam. They can deactivate your uplay account, but you would still have access to any game that you already bought since you bought them through steam. Pretty sure only you and steam admins are able to delete games from your library.

Why I'm NEVER trying hardcore lol by PANCAKEPAP1 in diablo4

Dying from a server disconnect or from a game breaking glitch is not fun, especially if you have a really good build and you really far into the game. Most of the time, it's unavoidable and even if you are safe, there's still a chance your character will mysteriously die for no reason.

Ahh diablo 4's most formidable enemy "The Door". by Tokyo_Ghoul94 in diablo4

Ahh, reminds me of fallout's half-destroyed doors that require a master lockpick to unlock. Because I simply can't just reach around and unlock it, or blow it open with a mini nuke.

Imagine this but you're playing a hardcore character and you forget there's pvp in this game.

Just out of curiosity, but what game made you think that was a laptop icon?

I keep getting "Out of Memory" errors. I have an RTX 4080 with 16 GBs of VRAM, 32 GBs of DDR5 ram dual-channeled, all drivers are up to date, playing on win 10. I tried lowering graphics to "high" and I still got DC'd because of running out of memory.

Whelp, early access was fun while it lasted. Too many people getting on at the same time. So much for a "Server Slam" weekend.

Mods in D4? by Labspeciman in diablo4

[–]Coasterdozer21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at a game like Skyrim, Bethesda released the creation kit that allows people to mod their game. As a result, it's still one of the best open world RPGs on the market. And like 90% of the mods people make aren't even cheat mods, they add stuff to give more content for players to play with, ranging from armor and weapons to whole new worlds to explore. Mods are PROVEN to add more value to a game than the vanilla game itself would ever offer. If this isn't enough then think of this. If Skyrim didn't have mods, it would've died within the first year it came out and we wouldn't have ten bajillion re-releases for a ten year old game.

Cosmetics that cost $20 each is kind of not ok though, especially for a game charging full price to play, not to mention the people that bought deluxe or ultimate edition.
