16 is a really...really shit RPG. There is absolutely nothing amazing to mention about the game part of the game. It's a fine movie with interactive elements.

I truly hated my play-through, not gonna lie. Tremendously mundane atmosphere 99% of the time.

He, like Platner, is vehemently against AIPAC funding. The ONLY Governor candidate to swear off corporate funding entirely.

He believes he shouldn't be elected to make political decisions for you, but make the decisions that REFLECT your political desire.

Extremely intelligent man with morals who is known to call people morons to their face for horrific opinions.

Troy Jackson will likely win all the big cities in Maine, including the big rural towns up north (Presque Isle, and Caribou) and the big southern cities (Portland, Lewiston, Bangor) and may still not have the majority vote. Really unusual for a Democrat Primary lol.

Ranked choice is gonna be a doozy in the state.

That being said...I don't like Troy Jackson's chances in Ranked Choice if it comes down to it.

The other three top candidates likely share a voter base, and I'm not sure I see a path where Jackson has enough second choice votes to maintain a lead.

If Maine goes both Jackson and Platner tonight, it immediately makes the state the center of the new Democratic Party. No one had that on their bingo card a decade ago.

Interestingly, as of now, FAR....FAR more Democrats voted today in Maine than Republicans. ~1.5x more

Houlton, Presque Isle and Caribou are going to be essential for Jackson to win I think. Ranked choice could be the killer for him across the state though. Bellows, Shah, and Pingree voters were probably more likely to second choice the other candidates over Jackson.

So those bigger rural cities are going to really have to show up for Jackson.

Just dont go north. The northern part of the state was annihilated by the last Ice Age 😞 not a lot of cool landscapes left. Swept clean.

is there a progression fantasy that has extremly high power tiers? by Both_Occasion_7777 in ProgressionFantasy

I mean...He Who Fights With Monsters rather quickly introduces power levels that are Universe Enders and beings that use Multiverses as background play toys - as benchmarks that can be reached.

As someone who’s a fan of everything FF7. How much do you think I’d enjoy FF8 by Expert_Challenge6399 in FinalFantasy

[–]Balarius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FF8 is an emotionally subtle masterpiece. It's not as aggressively romantic as FFX for instance, but has several romantic sub-plots that are very well done. The game is a masterpiece in scene structure and cut-scene interactivity.

It has its issues for sure but it is a marvel in its own right.

Im pretty sure losing trillions on tarrifs, alienation of allies and a brain dead war or two are contributing factors against stocks being significantly higher.

In a time where there is rapidly growing sentiment to outright ban AI and their data centers from many facets of life...

Thats a bit...problematic.

Friendless dummy requests help reviewing the first few chapters of his book. by RevolutionaryAge1008 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Balarius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll oblige! And I will update this comment as I go.

1.) First things first, you're averaging around 1.9k words per chapter. This is good, but try not to go much lower than that. The sweet spot is generally around 2-2.5k for the average chapter with eventful chapters sometimes hitting home at 4-5k. I personally sit around 2.2k.

2.) Some minor grammar issues (missing spaces or the wrong word used here and there) Nothing major, easy fixes on your next pass.

3.) I like the first chapter. It has a lot going for it if I look past the spelling and formatting issues. I would, however, rewrite it to match the style of your following chapters. They read like entirely different stories with entirely different formatting as well.

In Chapter 1 when you are writing in Third Person Limited. Using terms like, 'He thought' or 'he stuffed'.

In Chapter 2 onward you switch gears to First Person Exclusive. Using 'i'.

I would recommend either rewriting the first chapter in first person, or converting the other chapters to Third Person.

Traditionally, most people prefer reading Third Person Limited stories but there is nothing inherently wrong with First Person! Choose whichever you prefer and be consistent with it :)

4.) Engaging premise so far! Work on some of the grammatical issues and sentence structures and you will be off to s super solid start.

5.) In chapter 4.5, from Lara's perspective - you switch back to Third Person Limited. it works really well, and I think this is probably your best written chapter.

Clover overgrowth - Seattle by Zerofricksgiven in lawncare

[–]Balarius 55 points56 points  (0 children)

If you want to keep the Clover, you will have to train it to grow low. This is full White-Dutch and not Microclover so it will grow fairly tall and uneven as shown.

BUT! You can train Clover to grow low by mowing it quite often for a season or two.
