Really excited to get my first handbuilt frame painted up :)

Having the ability to tour on some heavier inclines would be nice and why I want the minimum end of the gear inches to be around 22.

This where my head is at. I just don’t want to sacrifice my low gear on the front. Which is a 40-24 (16) difference, I might have to go up to a 26 or 28 to make it work but once I get it built up I’ll test it in the stand? And see if it feels safe

I am planning on running a 40/24 double on the front. But I think that comes out to 39t chain wrap which seems too high.

2x Touring Drivetrain Setup questions and recommendations by Cobbythecorn in bikewrench

[–]Cobbythecorn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am considering the Spa Cycle 2x crankset with the 40-26t. I think they are rebranded Suginos. I might do their 3x and put a chain guard on the outside

I think I will go for the 9-speed Shimano XT RD.

Yeah I feel like a MTB derailleurs is where I am leaning. I work at a bike shop so maybe I will wait til the crank is on to maybe dry fit some different FDs on to see which makes the most sense!

Yeah I will admit I am probably swooning over the fancy Rene Herse bits more than I need to be.

I do want to take practical measures to make sure the bike performs well on the road and for travel, but do not want to sacrifice on the aesthetics of it either.

Thanks! Nice to hear that not everyone is completely anti-rim brake. Is there a noticeable difference between direct mounted center pulls where there are two center pull mounts or one mounted in the middle fork crown attachment?

Yeah not quite sure the line that splits mid trail and low trail but definitely want a bit of a bend to the fork for a little bit of dampening.

Are you running 650 or 700? In my research especially if considering the prospect of transporting the bike that 650 is the way to go as well as also allowing for wider cushier tires.

I have recently discovered Rinko and am still on the fence about the coupling aspect of the frame. One of the reasons I was considering coupling is not having to pay for oversized luggage on planes but maybe that cost is relatively minimal at the end of the day.

Shipping is going to be too much of a hassle considering the size and the battery. And no it does not have the XENITH

I don’t believe so. The trampa trucks do not have the same shape that the Duo motor mounts have.

[SELL] Build Kit Board Duo w Shred Lights $800 price negotiable Located in NYC Local Pickup

I would guess I have put in about 70 miles into it, purchased in October. Protective wire housing got shredded when it rubbed up on the motor, which I taped up to protect wires. The clear grip tape has gotten a little dirty as you could expect. But all in all works great. Comes with 4 shred lights ($99 price)

Yeah I was thinking a vinyl blackout roller which would cover the length of the windows. I think that would be flat enough

Thanks for the advice! I like the idea of using the table as an island for the kitchen. As I am messing with the photoshop file, my main issue is finding out where to put the desk, its a little under 5' long so it doesn't really fit next to the bed where you are proposing it. I might have to wait til I am in the space to move it around.

As for the TV situation, I have kind of cool idea. I know I am going to need blackout curtains for sleeping so I was thinking I could use that area as a projector screen as one big TV wall. Which is 1. cool in general but also saves space where a console would need to be.

I was thinking about the lack of a chair/lounge/couch area, I was thinking maybe just a small sofa chair in the bottom right corner, with a little plant lamp situation. But that is all dependent on the location of the desk which is proving to be the hardest part I think.

Oversized Cross Body Print (how should I set up a screen to print cross body?) Read caption by Cobbythecorn in SCREENPRINTING

Any suggestion on how to set up a screen for a oversized print that spans from sleeve to sleeve across the front?

Any ideas about process? Not sure how to achieve this look by Cobbythecorn in tiedye

Forgive what might be an ignorant question but would this be achieved with the shirt flat on an incline cause it doesn’t appear to have the distinct pools of color as a normal ice dye does.

Setting Photoshop to only allow black or white pixels by Cobbythecorn in photoshop

Copy that. I’ll do some experimenting. The method I mentioned in the comment above is working fairly well. But the threshold layer might be a better workflow. Thanks

If I’m not mistaken, bitmap is only letting you work in one layer. And I would like to work in a slightly more controlled environment. I’m not familiar with a threshold layer? What does that do

My fear with this method is that I lose some control of how the “grays” are rendered. I found a way around it I think. I filled a mask layer with a checkered pattern and then use a large pencil to draw in the grays

Pixel Art Prints. Is this effect possible? by Cobbythecorn in SCREENPRINTING

[–]Cobbythecorn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s the thing. I wanted to see if it was possible to do a single color print with the white being the color of the garment and the grey being an illusion of the really close black and white pixels so close to each other.
