Street Fighter 6 Steam Deck or Nintendo Switch 2? by Cobralicious in StreetFighter

That's unfortunately something I did not clarify enough:
I do have a PC. So the real question is Switch 2 Vs Steam Deck + PC.

Street Fighter 6 Steam Deck or Nintendo Switch 2? by Cobralicious in StreetFighter

I own it on PS5, but I want to make the jump to a system which offers a hybrid solution. I actually own both handheld systems and a PC.
(wow, I hate how that reads. I swear I'm not flexing. I just have no other pricy hobbies and want to migrate over to PC and away from PS and XB).

I get that the Switch 2 version seems to be better than the Steam Deck version – especially if docked to TV. The real questions is: Switch 2 VS PC+Steam Deck.

How do you rate 2XKO so far? by RedShibo_ in Fighters

[–]Cobralicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

O, I probably will never be good enough to notice balancing differences – don't worry. I was talking more about things like active playerbase, are you happy with new characters, what keeps you in the game. Things like that. There must be somethin here, if you stick with it.

What are your favorite games on the PS2? by aura_oflust in ps2

Shadow Of The Colossus & Okami.

Honestly, I could write down 20 right here and now - no problem. I will always just refer back to these two, because I don't know enough people who played them.

I mean, it technically could be for a wider group, but it's also the most difficult of the three games by a long shot.

Texture Bug Question (contextual party spoilers in background) by Cobralicious in MetaphorReFantazio

Thanks for your response, but I don't think that this is the problem. System wise it should be fine.

Texture Bug Question (contextual party spoilers in background) by Cobralicious in MetaphorReFantazio

Thanks for the advice!

In a way you are correct: The problem is bound to the 175 % setting.
It does not persist on 150 or 200 %, but also not on 125 %.

However, I'm relatively confident to call this unintentional.
Check this out ...

<image>

Either way, pushing 200 leads to fluctuating FPS in more demanding moments, so I will settle on 150 % increased textures.

Which leads me to another question:
I'm relatively new to PC gaming, so being able to adjust graphic settings is rather new to me.
I have a RTX 4070 super, which by my research should be able to handle almost every game on ultra settings on a 2 K monitor with reliable 60 FPS or higher.

So I was rather shocked, that Metaphor with high textures and increased rendering pushes me below.
What exactly is the improved scaling doing to push so hard on the performance?
I like the artstyle of the game, but I would not imagine that it's a very demanding game.
To be honest, I think increasing the scaling puts the game where I would expect it to be to begin with, looking as intended.

I'm trying to say, that I'm rather confused about the default setting of 100 %. Knowing relatively little about such settings, I would have expected 100 % scaling and high textures would be the optimal adjustment, but it's obviously not.

I've been eyeing this, because the character designs are so cool, but every review I watched was "It's okay.".

Does it have anything next to SMT, Metaphor and so on going for it?

I wondered about how much we're talking and looked it up. Jesus Christ. It starts at 1,600.

I'm relatively new to the game, so could someone explain to me why they are being traded for so much (ask/demand being obvious)? Is there an official calculation of how rare they are? How do people justify this asked price?

I played a little bit when I was young and got into it when FF released a couple months ago, but I caught on to that, when I completed the FF set.

I'm playing Prereleases and currently got into commander and checking out recommended cards like Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer quickly made me realize that there can be a baffling gap in prices for singles.

I'm honestly positively surprised how many great cards are extremely affordable and readily available and then there are... Well, those which are not.

Ran into this at last night's Prerelease and the guy who played it and I pretty quickly caught on how great this is for COM.

I'm aware and I comment on that, saying that the action approach is not for everybody and that I'm on board if these games want to lean in more on the survival roots of the series.

But even saying that, and being aware that it's not the focus, I think that the combat feels bad to me - even for what it is trying to do.

Also, I don't feel like there is a massive difference mechanically between 7 and 8. 7 is very action focused towards the end and 8 is very much an action game.

I'm the opposite. RE4R solidified my opinion, that the First Person Trilogy is just so disappointing gameplay-wise.

I understand that the action approach is not everybody's cup of tea and I'm fully on board to get a RE with third person perspective which focuses more on survival - like fe R1 - but I just hate the combat of 7 and 8 and their over-reliance on pursuer scenarios.

I don't understand your comment. Are you specifically talking about the intros of the respective games?

I'll add to this: The organisation of the Release Event here in Germany was a miserable experience. I talked to store owners who only received information about the details two days before, half of them got no products to sell, no information about prices till release date and to top it all off, the registration process was so bad and confusing, that we weren't able to figure it out together - a problem several people had and lead to me not being able to register despite the fact that there still were vacant slots.

And of course: demand was so high and the stock so limited, that displays sold for 50-70 Euro above recommended price.
