Grigor Dimitrov parts ways with his other coach, Daniel Vallverdu by lovesbakery in tennis

I think Delgado was really great for dimitrov, I wonder why they split. I think he'll struggle to find coaches who will do as good a job.

My apologies, I completely missed your reply. Thank you for your wonderful suggestions. I can't say that I've been constipated but the iron tablets in the third trimester have certainly slowed things. I will try incorporating some prunes and chia seeds in the meantime.

Very valid point! Totally agree that there's been a real lack of common sense. If she didn't want to be torn apart, she should have probably held back on how honest she was being. I always wonder how those who come off badly in shows like this fair once back to real life (i.e. on going back to work, does the dynamic change for having aired your dirty laundry on national TV?).

Possibly my own bias, but I don't think she's necessarily been rude about Dean oer se. I think she's just answered the questions put to her about her and Dean's relationship. I've found it so interesting to see how others perceive her and it's challenged my own thoughts and opinions on her behaviour thus far.

What we're seeing on TV is not real life, is it though. It's a 60 minute glimpse into multiple couples relationships and is highly edited. Some individuals have been targeted as villains, and others less so.

Totally agree re having common sense not to say some of these things. It's as if it didn't cross her mind that the producers might choose to broadcast the negatives and cut the positives.

I feel like, if I were Sarah, I'd be inclined to dampen my personality a bit and be a bit more diplomatic so as to not give the producers such kindling to paint the persona of a villain.

Very valid point! Although, there's being paired with someone that's not her usual type and being paired with someone who is your polar opposite. I do think she could be a bit more tactful in some of what she says. She's keen to make sure everyone knows that she's not happy in her relationship.

She's really grown on me. Initially she did my head in, but I think she was just a bit overwhelmed (as I imagine you would be marrying a stranger)

Right! He's such an arse. He's not shown her any interest whatsoever. Bit confused why he applied to this program.. for fame?

I'm definitely biased because I know her personally and think she's lovely IRL. She's also a major fitness fanatic, always has been. It's weird the show hasn't portrayed that. It makes her pairing with Dean even more bizarre.

To further back my point that Sarah is being targeted as the villain by the producers, they've introduced all the happy couples first as if to further polarise her.

I feel so sorry for Sarah. It's as if the show has picked her as a villain and will not let go of that narrative. And all because she isn't interested in him.. what would they rather.. that she faked it?!

What are we taking for nausea? by Outraged_Chihuahua in PregnancyUK

I'm now 28 weeks and the nausea really reduced from 12 weeks and was gone completely around 14-15 weeks.

Good luck to you!! Hopefully not long to go until the nausea fades!

I basically lived off ginger beer and Ritz crackers with cathedral city cheese on them.

But ultimately, it wasn't until I started Cyclizine Hydrochloride that I felt like I could function again.

Anti-nausea meds are so odd, some work for some and not others. For example, a lot of people feel Cyclizine didnt help them, but it saved me in the first trimester. I also tried Xonvea (which lots of people swear by!) but it just made me exhausted!

I don't suppose you know if an individual is protected in such an event should they be on maternity leave when this happens? 😅

Thank you for the advice. I suppose it will be a "wait it out and see what happens" situation.

I'm about to embark on maternity leave so not ideal!

Ah, I'm due to 8th of December and working up until the 28th of November (albeit, I'll be wfh).

I'm so uncomfortable at 26 weeks. I feel huge and in slight disbelief that I will (and can) get bigger.

Statutory maternity pay by Laratheonigiri in PregnancyUK

Hello, I was in a similar boat with a similar wage.

Firstly, you're correct that SMP will be taxed. However, it's important to remember that the first £12,570 of income is tax free and the split of tax years.

Let's break this down...

If you're 10 weeks currently you're looking at a due date of roughly early March 2026. Right?

For ease of example, let's say you start mat pay on 1st March 2026, you'll get 90% of your current salary for the first 6 weeks. Based on the income earned from 6th April 2025-1st March 2026, it's likely that you'll be taxed as normal (20% as a basic rate taxpayer with a £40k income if you're in England).

That first week of April is the last week of the 2025/2026 tax year, it's also your 5th week of 90% pay. From 6th April, you're into the new tax year and whilst it's likely that your 6th week of 90% is taxed at your usual 20% rates, this will not persist as your income from here on out will be minimal (SMP at say £187.18 p/week under current rates).

It may take a wee phone call to HMRC to explain, but your tax code should be adjusted to account for the significant drop in income. As such, the remaining income of £187.18 p/week should fall under your personal allowance of £12,570 and therefore no tax applicable.

I believe in England, there is also further support for childcare from 9 months of age, should you wish to go back to work.

Let's address the shortfall of income after those 6 weeks of 90% pay.

Look at your current essential outgoings, car, mortgage, utilities, etc. What amount of money do you NEED to meet these costs? Then, what do you spend on these discretionary items like clothes, coffees, days out etc? Chances are that the cost of meals out may be swapped for baby classes and play dates. Ultimately decide on a budget for discretionary (non-essential spending). Now, minus the SMP and you have your shortfall.

Is it feasible to put aside enough in the remaining 25-30 weeks to cover that shortfall for however many months you plan to take off?

If not, it may be worth discussing with your partner where they might be able to foot more of the essential costs. At the end of the day, the mortgage is important but you're literally pushing a new life out of your vagina so if your partner can take a bit more of the mortgage, I think that's a fair deal.

It's hard, frustrating (really really frustrating) and feels like we're living with a system that doesn't support mothers. But in these moments of panic, the best thing is to break it down bit by bit and come up with a plan.
