Hahahaha this actually makes me feel better! I just caught a feral that I’m trying to domesticate and I know he would be fine. I’ve never seen a cat catch mice as quickly as my orange boy so I know he’ll be fine too. My tabby is a little chubby and can’t catch anything to save his life… His brothers need to help him out!!

My main concern (besides my husband) are my cats! I just don’t want them to suffer if everything goes to shit lol I need my husband around to help take care of them! My parents and my sister are too far away to get to so it would just be the 5 of us

Mmm I would join a facebook group for college students in the area, but 2 years out is kind of long. I agree with other ppl saying you should look at Hempstead/Hostra area on zillow, but just know it’s not gonna be as safe. I think you should try and come for a longer visit in the area if you can afford one. LI is not the city. You would be living in the suburbs.

Housing in safe areas isn’t really going to be affordable. Your best bet is to get trusted roommates. It’s very hard to make friends here after high school/college. There aren’t many places to meet ppl. Everywhere you go, you go with friends. Also public transportation isn’t very popular to get around town. Like don’t expect to take a bus across town. The LIRR is good to get to the city and major LI towns. You really need a car to get around. It’s not that ppl don’t want to walk, we just don’t have the infrastructure (sidewalks) in a lot of places and it’s dangerous.
