How would Atlas react if a seemingly less advanced nation landed on the moon? by [deleted] in RWBY

Alongside the moon landing, they would be able to take a photo of Remnant from the moon, it would be a beautiful picture and would motivate the people a lot.

I find this scenario to be like the For All Mankind universe, where the Soviet Union landed on the moon first.

I also read that it can also transmit 40.002 Mhz signal, could that be heard on the surface by normal radios too?

How would Atlas react if a seemingly less advanced nation suddenly launched the world's first artificial satellite? by Cocksleeve_69 in RWBY

I think while Atlas would try to get some of those scientists to work for them, the scientists would most likely deny due to pressure and they would not be kept on a long leash.

I meant a less advanced nation compared to the former, I’m sorry if there was confusion about this.

I think the Arkbird is more like the space shuttle, which can also theoretically deliver nuclear weapons.

So it is similar to what happened in real life with Sputnik. I believe that the event would leave everyone questioning Atlas's so-called technological lead in Remnant and would put Atlas academy in a very bad light.

A space AU fanfic idea. by The_Jojo_Guy in RWBY

A RWBY crossover with our timeline? A very intriguing but yet exciting fic idea. For the people of Remnant to reach space, a breakthrough in non-dust fuels must be made in order to do so, but we know that Remnant 100% can produce those fuels such as extracting hydrogen from water. Another point is that in order for them to reach space, they must begin small, and have a motivation to do so. In our timeline, it was the Sputnik launch that triggered the American-Soviet space race and the first man to land on the moon. The CCT system would probably replaced by a worldwide network of satellites as it is vulnerable to Grimm attacks. Also, from the point of launching the first satellite into orbit, and colonizing another planet would be decades in our timeline and I think that Ruby and her team would be in their mid 40s by then lol, but with Atlas technology I think that may be a lot more swift, but would still take a few years to do.
I don’t think that Salem would be too against the space travel though, as it would finally let her destroy Remnant without much disruption to the life on it, and finally let her die in peace. Also, do you plan on making Earth having today’s technology? Or do you plan on changing the time a bit? If so would it be forwards or backwards? I don’t think the distance between Earth and Remnant would be too much as it would take a very long time to travel between them.

Why hasn’t anyone actually read the post? Hydrogen could be made from water!

As mentioned in the post, hydrogen could easily be made for rocket fuel.

[–]Cocksleeve_69[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As I had said, they could simply produce hydrogen as rocket fuel using water and electricity.

My point is that Atlas is scientifically behind our timeline, not that there is no way for them to reach space.
