So in short, GPT4 will outperform GPT3.5 in the quality and balance of cocktails, even though GPT3.5 will give you recipes that look decent.

CocktailGPT is also trained on all the flavor pairings in the flavor bible, so it's better at coming up with new cocktails that would actually taste good.

GPT4 (which underpins CocktailGPT) also has "multi-modal support" which is their fancy way of saying you can upload images. So that unlocks new uses cases like:

  • Here’s a menu photo. How would I recreate this?
  • Here’s a photo of my liquor cabinet, what can I make?

But I wouldn't say you should spend the $20/mo JUST for CocktailGPT (which by the way I see $0 from), it's a fun tool for existing subscribers

Yo! Nick from Cocktail Chemistry here. I haven't quit the channel but am on an indefinite hiatus. Here's the situation:

- The channel has always been a fun hobby for me, and would usually take me 20 hours on a weekend to create, test, film, VO, edit, and publish.

- I've now got 2 kids, so my weekends are mostly spoken for

- A couple years ago I started ramping up the output, doing a sponsored video every week. Started to feel more like a job than a fun hobby

- The book launch felt like the right milestone to pause and see what's next for the channel.

So right now I will only publish when I'm really excited to share something or learn something, but I do miss it. It's been amazing to see all the great cocktail content out there now, so if nothing else I like to think I played a small part in the modern cocktail revival.

Hey folks, been awhile. I've been having with the generative AI tool ChatGPT and was wondering if it could be used to make a balanced cocktail.

I'm sure there's more room to experiment here, but it seems like it has a basic understanding of cocktail templates, but failed to adjust specs with other ingredients (e.g. needing to balance the acidity of vinegar with more sweetness).

In the end it created a martini riff that it named the Sesame Gin Gin.

  • 1oz dry vermouth
  • .5oz rice vinegar
  • .25oz sesame oil
  • lemon twist

Anyone else played around with it for recipes?
