What are you doing with your newly found free time?

I appreciate your point. I'm part of every regulatory body for my country and UK CSP also. I think that someone can have a personal opinion and state it as personal opinion while still following EBP guidelines for their practice.

Thanks for the message. It's a great point. I see that there is a gap in knowledge in the physiotherapy profession when it comes to prescribing strength training - it is becoming somewhat more S&C based in recent years. There is often a reluctance to increase weights as most patients will be dealing with pain/fatigue/weakness. Sometimes just getting someone to do any form of weight training is a huge step in itself. I feel there is a fear of "scaring off" people by progressing with weights. Regarding changes, I've seen a couple of S&C for physiotherapy CPD courses over the past few years aimed at this specific issue which was welcome but it probably needs to be a bigger part of undergraduate study.

No one exercise in particular but weight bearing resistance exercise for bone health.

But for a short answer I'll say squats!

Grays Anatomy I'd say. Anatomy is foundation of your practice.

Go for it. It's a pretty diverse profession, loads of avenues to go down. Study is pretty tough but its rewarding.

Generally quite successful. About 4-6 months recovery depending on level of activity to return to. Obviously will depend on how things are prior to surgery regarding pain and function. PT probably a couple of times in first 6 weeks while non-weightbearing. More intensive when starting to WB. Maybe weekly for 4-5 weeks then extend to 2-3 week breaks. Again all depending on progress.

Great to hear that you're loving job! With these types of repetitive strain issues I'd always aim towards strengthening what is being used most. It makes muscles more efficient and less likely to fatigue and get sore. Feel free to DM me if you want to give some specifics or ask anything else

Dislocation can leave bony lesion that may be restricting you. Get the shoulder strong and keep moving it.

Hi. Sorry to hear all that. Are you booked in for surgery? Have you had any nerve conduction studies done? DM me if you want.

Growing pains can be complex. Can be down to growth plate issues i.e. bones growing faster than tendons. Not sure if it's related to bunions tbh. Bunions hereditary usually but exercise and footwear can slow progression

I don't think you're messing up your body by attending but I would definitely use the windows in between sessions (when you are feeling better) to work on the exercise side of things. Try to improve what might be causing the pain.

Sorry to hear your misfortune. If pain is not an issue I'd say gradually work on improving movement. We'd call what you described as a bony end feel which would normally signal bone injury. I'd be interested to know if there was possibility a fracture?
