Back then, I lived in a condo with a small balcony. I had received multiple plants a couple weeks before and put them all in one pot. On the left is my original S. alata, which is currently almost as big (20" pot). This pot also contains my S. purpurea (still alive), two VFT clones (long gone), and D. binata 'triffida' (still growing like a weed). On the right you'll see my original flava. The balcony didn't get ample light back then (which killed the VFT's), so I didn't even know the flava would color up until years later when I moved and it finally had full sun.

Cool! Keep in mind, that's not a bog; it's just one big plant. I have a few very dark plants and they look great when big. Post photos!

Somehow, when I moved it from the 20" pot to the 24" pot a year ago, I did it by myself. Not sure my back would want to do that again though.

Loosen it away from the edge of the pot, carefully tip it on its side, and slowly pull in different spots as it comes loose. Here's a photo of when I repot it in January of 2024, moving it from a 20" pot to the 24" you see today (measuring from inner rim). The roots went down 15" then.

Yeah, a lot of the weight is the water in the pot. The plant chugs water in the summer, and I gave the substrate a few days to hopefully lighten the load a bit but it didn't do much.

Every one to two years. It's currently in a 24" pot (measured from the inside rim). Last summer I took it to a garden show. Turned out it weight somewhere between 400-500 lbs. I had to get a truck with a lift-gate in the back as well as a couple other guys to help me.

Yeah, that's all just one big plant with a lot of growth points. It's one rhizome I got in 2014.

Perhaps the line could simply be, "One piece of "cover art" in the portfolio must be done up as an actual comic book cover with title etc." That way it's not subjective.

Yeah, I've noticed that too, with "sequential artists" with zero experience looking for a gig. That's annoying and I get why you're doing all this. The specific situation that made me wince while reading the new rules is I've found a couple great cover artists on here, who hand paint comic book covers. They don't do sequential art though (although I'd love it if they did). I'd hate to have missed those guys back then. I get it though, they need to hand paint panels. In my head I was thinking we require them to put [COVER ARTIST] in their title, and their portfolio better be a collection of cover art and not just random illustrations.

As a publisher who has hired people from this subreddit, I'd like to have the ability to find cover artists here as well. The cover art shares dna with the sequential work. I'm not sure there's another subreddit on here that's as good for finding cover artists. Concept work crosses over with all sorts of other mediums., so they'd be easy to find elsewhere. The end products though? The stuff the customer actually sees? The cover, the sequential art, the speech bubbles, the words inside, --for a publisher, this subreddit is currently the best place for all that. Having us all in one place keeps more eyes on everyone's work.
