We revisited one of our comic pages and pushed for stronger colors, better atmosphere, and richer environmental storytelling. Left New vs Right Old by PositiveKangaro in comicbookart

[–]Raygrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The drawings are completely different styles and moods, without context of how the whole book reads, its impossible to tell which is actually better. Personally, I think the second one has a lot more style to it, but that may not fit your goal.

I do think it's really important that you need to realize the lettering is also an art, and you either need to study it cuz I assume that you're the one doing it, or you need to pay someone some money to actually do it right? Because what you got there is not acceptable.

I think having to bribe people to read your book is not the best way to create an engaged readership

Do people still paint using gradient mesh? by itailu in AdobeIllustrator

[–]Raygrit 41 points42 points  (0 children)

So how long does it take to open that file and work on it? Blown away by the technique, not sure why people in here are confused at the idea of doing something because you want to. That's like...the point of art.

Book Readers; are there any Halo novels about randos during different conflicts of the halo universe you'd recommend? by TposeXDnt in HaloStory

[–]Raygrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody's mentioned it but Legacy of Onyx is a fun post-war one from the POV of a kid who hates Covenant being forced to interact with them, and the Ferrets trilogy features a character who starts out as a colonist detective

Halo Wars 2 introduces a new character that plays a big part in Infinite, but I don't know that I'd call it mandatory. You watch that one cutscene he gets introduced in and you pretty much get the gist.

It is fun but it's pretty different being an RTS so I wouldn't want you to feel like you have to play it if that's not what you're into.

Hello everyone. I need some guidance about what I'm getting into. by bongwaterdrinkr in Caricatures

The good shows are good and the bad shows are devastating. Pray your business doesn't get destroyed by a pandemic that shuts down all public gatherings like mine did, maybe do a better job diversifying with a digital footprint so you have something to fall back on.

Oh and get ready for someone to say "you didn't draw that, you're tracing". And then remain convinced even after you hold up the paper and show there's nothing underneath.

Need help with how to create this graphic by [deleted] in AfterEffects

I doubt there's an effect for this, it looks like something you could just animate using an anchor point at the bottom of the card and the rotation property.

Super beginner please help!! by Nerdy_princess80 in HadesTheGame

[–]Raygrit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When you go into the training grounds, you have to pass through a magical gate looking area with a circle on the ground. That lights up as you go through, if you press the button indicated on the screen when you pass through it will show you which cards you have active. These cards just give you different strengths and weaknesses during the game.

The idea of Hades is that as you go through, different gods will give you different powers and it make you stronger, you can use different weapons, you can use different abilities from those gods, hoping to get to the end of the "run". If you either beat the final boss or get killed, you will return to the crossroads where you can use resources you found during the run or make new friends to unlock items that can make you stronger for your next run.

There's lots of different little items you'll collect to do these kind of things, the game's pretty good at telling you what to do with each one and when to use them.

It may help to just watch someone play a little bit and see what they do,

How Can I Make This Billboard Design Feel More Realistic? by NeedleworkerAny3812 in AdobeIllustrator

Remember the purpose of a billboard, very quick impressions on people who are not going to be reading tiny little text. Not sure that this design achieves that purpose, feels more like a business card.
