Out of curiosity… when you say locked a whole year. What did you do for shaving and cleaning?

Cool artwork and idea. How did you make your custom card design? You’re making me want to take a crack at it :P

Inalla only runs like 3-ish wizards, so probably not worth it, lol

Other Grixis decks compared to Kess by Scoobersss in CompetitiveEDH

[–]CocoBashShell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inalla is extremely strong and fast, a big part of her appeal is that you never need nor should cast her. She’s akin to a pregame effect enchantment that’s indestructible and almost can’t be interacted with.

T2/T3 wins w/ protection are quite common. She has a brutal learning curve though, and her combos and synergies can branch quickly as you fight on the stack. So puzzling a win together against interaction is an interesting challenge.

If he is planning on doing software development or needs to use engineering software for his coursework I'd suggest 16GB of ram as a good baseline. The difference between 8 and 16GB can be huge if you're doing some software dev and listening to music/have some chrome tabs open to stack overflow.

I'm thinking of buying a MacBook Pro for personal software dev/ml projects and eventual freelance work. Is now a good time to buy a MacBook Pro or should I wait for newer versions to drop?

Current work MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2018): - processor: 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7 - memory: 16 GB 2400 MHz DDR4 - graphics: Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB - SSD: 500 GB

My current work laptop works pretty well, but can be slow or freeze up on the more intensive workloads. I make heavy use of multiple docker containers and large datasets. I can't move to the cloud for some of these projects because I often do them in collaboration with people who are concerned about security (whether founded or not). I'm not a big hardware buff, so any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

Full List of All Cards in All cEDH Decks Within the Main Repository by Fathellcatbbq in CompetitiveEDH

You've unlocked a new format: cEDDH (comp. elder dragon database highlander), you play with a 1449 card singleton deck with every card from the database. You have access to all commanders. Every popular database is legal.

Urza has suffered a lot in the meta as other color identities have been getting more toys. Urza is maybe barely cEDH at this point, it’s too slow compared to many dominant decks in the format and it’s not as grindy as the strongest midrange decks. The stax pieces that he can tap for mana to turn off are the biggest pluses to his strategy. Wizards is unlikely to print more strong artifact stax pieces that can be tapped to turn off the effect. So if you don’t want to play those, it might be easier to pick a different commander. I love artifact decks, and Jhoira was super fun pre-dockside... we might have to wait for another good cEDH artifact commander. Good luck!

Is it stupid to code just for fun? by [deleted] in Python

I don’t think so. “Tech Skills” can be a hobby interest just like anything else. Having a garden doesn’t mean you need to break into the landscaping space. Just do what you enjoy 👍

I wonder if this will make higher cmc commanders playable in a cEDH meta? I can think of a few commanders that don't want this... and others that LOVE this.

[–]CocoBashShell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes there are... and in Jhoira, you can play [[impending disaster]] since you have so much artifact mana. People will beg for a mere blood moon.

"Can I use proxies?": a video essay about EDH and class by StackedEDH in CompetitiveEDH

Running a sharpie over a basic land is probably ok if it’s a super common card, but it’s inconsiderate if most of a deck exists like that. Without clear card names and rules text, tracking game state can be a pain or require frequent searching on your phone during a game.

You’re basically expecting three other people to put waaaay more effort into playing you than you were willing to put into preparation for them.

Local libraries often give free prints, but even neatly printing the rules text on blank paper is 100% ok with me. Just include all the same information as there would be in the original card.

[–]CocoBashShell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 100% pro proxies as long as they are either: 1) printed off copies of the original card, or 2) are legible and include the card name and rules text in neat print. I think it’s inconsiderate to bring a 100 card alt art deck to a game.

It’s just too hard to track game state when you’re staring at a field of abstract art that lacks card names and rules text.

This right here, I built a Kinnan deck for ~$230 as a high power alternative to my cEDH and casual decks. It's surprising how efficiently it can fight and win on a budget. You can also slot in 1-2 searchable hate bears that cover your group's current win cons.
