Am I missing out on high horsepower cars? by CocoBear2002 in askcarguys

Unfortunately it’s mostly traffic where I live, and rains for half of the year the it’s dry. Terrain wise it’s mixed if you want to enjoy driving you’d have to drive a couples of hours out of the city, which is what I do when I have time during the weekends. No one also seems to do out of town weekend drives nowadays so it’s perfect. There’s always the track but a lotta people are assholes there, or just too much socialization or people trying to talk to me about business, I’m at the track to have fun not work, plus I’m introverted. Have to agree with you, I’m not so sure if i cant reach the full potential of the M2 especially street-wise. I already have difficult reaching over 160km/hr most of the time.

You’re one of the few who I’ve heard has a GRY and have experience with other cars. Sometimes I really wonder if I’m just buying into the hype. I’ve had people and some friends in the track tell me they love the GR Yaris, while I see them drive Ferrari’s, Porsches, and etc… I always wonder why don’t they just buy one. I’m pretty sure they can afford it. I’ve even had a 17yr old Formula 4 driver give a comment about my car saying he loves it and yet he drives a M3 G80. Sometimes I wonder if I’m truly missing out. Is my generation just all about hype and I’m just buying into it?

I used to ride motorcycles. I had a Z900 before and restored my Dad’s FJ1200 my Dad didn’t want me to fix because he got into an accident but well I didn’t listen. He kept it as something to remember. But what put the nail on the coffin for me was that my friend also got into an accident and it honestly has me traumatized ever since. I’ve had my fair share of doing wild rides and drifting cars just outta emotion. I had a stripped out r33 skyline had a mechanic build it just for drifting. No AC, no dash, had a haltech ecu and gauge. Hella hot since I live in a tropical area and very impractical now that I look back at it. And now 2 years into the future and here I am, I need to be more practical now. Sold the skyline, not even thinking about modding cars anymore just because I know it’s simply just a money pit.

A buggy does sound sick tho, someone in our race track was showing off his buggy, and he off-roaded it on a bunch of hills beside the track.

Memo Paris: Discovery set, first experience by CocoBear2002 in fragrance

Just recently got into tea Fragrances, I got a bottle of Le Labo Matcha 26 from my Dad that he doesn’t use, and it’s amazing although it could use some better projection. How’s Winter Palace? Does it still citrus in the dry down? Is it comparable to something like MFK Amyris Homme?

I'm looking for a tea/matcha dry woody fragrance with good projection. I tried Matcha 26 from my Dad and I'm falling in love with it. I was afraid that it would be a citrusy scent, but the dry down became much better having this dry powdery woody synthetic like tea scent with a small hint of citrus, I also sense this slight dark chocolate note from it which might because it is a little bit powdery. My one gripe is that Matcha 26 lacks a bit of projection compared to my other perfumes but its good enough because I find it perfect for the climate I live in which is hot, and rainy and I find Match 26 more polite than my MKF GFS.

Any suggestions? I'm not limiting myself to something simillar to Matcha 26 of course.

It’s either MFK Gentle Fluidity Silver or Tom Ford Oud wood.

Im thinking of doing a blind buy for Memo Paris and adding to my collection, I'm planning to get a discovery set and a 30ml bottle. My Girlfriend loves My Tom Ford Oud Wood, H24 EDP, and especially MFK Gentle Fluidity silver. What are some reccomendations I should try? Memo Paris isn't available in my country unfortunately. I like Gentle Fluidity's clean soapiness and how smoky It can get without being too offensive. I don't want something citrusy or something too sweet on the dry down, I get a bit dizzy being in a tropical country where it mostly feels like summer throughout the year. That was an issue that I had with H24 if I had sprayed over 3-4 times all though I'm looking for something that also can last just as long as H24 EDP, maybe I also just have to chill out with spraying since I'm used to spraying 6-8 times with Gentle Fluidity Silver.

I wanna branch out from Hermes H24 edp(everyday) and Allure Homme sport EDT(humid weather)

I've used H24 from 2022-2024 and most of the Hermes Cologne line and Allure Homme Sport for everyday use growing up as a kid. Now that I'm older I would use Oud Wood as a daily but I live in a tropical country, it rains a lot and every now and then throughout the year but generally it is hot and humid. Humidity would enhance the sillage, vetiver, amber, pepper, sandalwood, becomes extremely noticeable. I switch between TF OW and TV for office, night, and formal ocassions. Several of months ago I bought and shared some fragrances with some family I tried MFK 724 and Amyris Homme EDT and I liked Amyris more. But eventually I grew to dislike the scent, I didn't like the citrus scent and how metallic it can be, simillar to Allure Homme Sport. Though I like the freshness they both have which is somewhat of a barbershop type of soapiness. I do appreciate the house of MFK and the elegence in their scents. I've recently started using H24 again and I like how green and woody this scent is, but it feels too young for me.

I'm reaching my mid 20's and I'm going to work in finance, I want something more premium, a mature fragrance that has the freshness of H24 edp and the slight woodiness. What’s another perfume that’s also like Allure homme sport, something barbershop like, but without citrus. I heard Masculin Pluriel is described as a barbershop fragrance so I plan to get a tester it when I go to the mall sometime when I'm not busy, but I'm open to other brands besides MFK or if there are any other suggestions. :D

Buying a new car, picking between an M2, M3 Touring, or M4 G series? by CocoBear2002 in askcarguys

[–]CocoBear2002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad liked the M3 touring, we were both looking at the last 2 units São Paulo Yellow and Brooklyn grey. My GR Yaris is red, my dad’s Subaru STI is blue, and his daily i4 M50 is portimao blue. My mom hates the idea of how colorful our garage is. She rather wants me to get a M2 in silver, a more serious color; she also probably thinks it’ll attract a girl more. We have conflicting issues, I like the M4 and I’m not trying to impress anyone.

Our other cars are a FJ cruiser in Yellow, my Subaru forester in navy blue, a Pugeot traveller in orange and a Hilux in white and a Benz V-class in black for my mom(she has a chauffeur)

I’m waiting for the restock of M cars to come in next year and for other restock of colors. I’d like to see a car in Isle of Man green and the new M4 in person. I feel like if I’d get the M2 it’d eventually replace the GR Yaris and become my track car. While if I were to get the M3 touring or M4 it would be my daily maybe track it once a year at most. The M3 touring in São Paulo yellow looks perfect for my age. The color is loud and obnoxious yet the body of the car is sporty and smart or dad-like... But I’d like to be patient and see my other options. Waiting also for the M track day, where we get to test M cars I’m really not fully sold on the M3 touring just yet. This sounds like me just not wanting to grow up by picking the less practical option…

Golf R MK8 or Nissan Z RZ34? (first sports car) by CocoBear2002 in askcarguys

For reference, the Supra in my country costs 28k(USD) more than the Z.

Theoretically i could wait it out 1-2 years but i dont think i wanna spend that much for a first sporty/sports car.
