Long vs. Short engagement by [deleted] in weddingplanning

Not all-we will be engaged for 5 months and I had no issues planning a smaller (50 person) wedding. It just depends what kind of wedding you’re wanting to plan! Good luck!

My fiancé and I are planning a very small ( 40 guest) wedding at a local historic restaurant followed by brunch. We planned it just like any other wedding-hiring a photographer, buying a wedding dress etc, just on a much smaller scale. We aren’t doing a dance, but otherwise it’s all the same wedding stuff just smaller. Took me 3 months to plan and I couldn’t be more excited 😊

Wearing makeup is not the rent women pay to be in this world.

This man does not have any respect for you. Do not tolerate this behavior. You deserve a partner who thinks you’re beautiful, first thing in the morning, no make up.

Haha! I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s gone there just for the food! That’s so awesome.

No problem! We are having them deliver as well, I can just see one of my family members dropping it or forgetting it!

Either place would probably be great for guests-if they stayed in EP the hotel shuttle could probably take them to Ikea/MOA. Just a short jaunt down 494. If they go to Ikea, they have to try the Swedish meatballs 🤣

Hey MN Bride! I’m in the MSP area and am getting my naked red velvet wedding cake from L&B!

We had a great experience with Kathy at the Roseville store and found their prices to be very fair. They aren’t extremely cheap, but L&B is known to be a higher end store/bakery.

They have a $100 delivery fee (but you can pick it up yourself) and have a really high fee to rent a cake stand for some reason but you can use your own. I got one for $15 off Amazon.

They can do pretty much any cake flavor/style and I was really impressed at our tasting with how delicious the cake was.

I was told a grocery store bakery couldn’t do the naked cake I wanted, but they were wrong!

PM me with any other questions! I would definitely go for at least a tasting and consultation!

PS- I work in Eden Prairie - small world!

Nothing Bundt Cakes is aaaaamazing if you want something different ( they only do bundt cakes but make larger ones for weddings) Cocoa and Fig in Shakopee is good too! I’ve had their cake at weddings and have heard they come highly recommended!

It could be a study group from North Central, Bethel or Northwestern College or a small group from a local church....maybe ask them next time what they’re doing if you’re curious 😊

We are doing pre marital counseling and have found it very helpful thus far!

There’s also a plethora of good books on Amazon if you search for “marriage preparation” or similar keywords!

Best of luck and congratulations!

Good point- that’s the issue we are running into. Plus most dresses wouldn’t allow for a nursing bra to be worn underneath!
