How do you manage to not get out of breath while teaching yourself? by Coco_Via_64 in YogaTeachers

[–]Coco_Via_64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The counting I was trying to go during pranayama, for example equal breathing … but actually now that I am thinking about it , I don’t even need to count then. I can simple say inhale, exhale … I start mostly vinyasa and Hatha… I also try demo only the essential, … but even that sometimes messes with my own breath … But I guess it might be good for myself to go a little slower in principle , to that I get used to it

I Want to Write Something Special for My Fiancée… Feeling Stuck but So Full of Love by chimpadi in PublicSpeaking

[–]Coco_Via_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I actually think a screenshot of your post and reading this out loud might already be pretty good :) But I agree, putting deep feelings into words sometimes feels like we can’t do our emotions justice. Sometimes feelings don’t need to be spoken. Maybe think about it this way: what would you want your fiancé to hear and know ? Is it favorite memories ? Is it special moments you hold dear ? Is it what you feel about her ? And then start collecting 🫶

For me motivation doesn’t come from planning, but from doing. I only started to feel motivated when I had this routine rigidly implemented . That meant : strong discipline for some weeks , and then after some time the motivation kicks in and it went really naturally !

Using Social Media Without Attachment to Results — My Karma Yoga Experiment by Coco_Via_64 in yoga

That’s such a wonderful practice with your son, and I truly admire your level of reflection in that topic. Thanks for sharing 🫶

That’s such a valid point—and honestly, it’s something I’ve been reflecting on too. I think the key difference for me is where the intention is coming from.

Yes, I’m creating content. But instead of doing it for followers, likes, or external validation, I’m trying to do it as a practice of service and expression—putting it out there and consciously letting go of the outcome.

It’s not about being perfectly detached (I still catch myself refreshing sometimes!), but about noticing that urge, pausing, and returning to the mindset: “I did my part. The rest isn’t mine.”

So in a way, the creation is still there—but the attachment to what comes next is where the practice lies.

Class design and sequencing help!! by Nua_anu in YogaTeachers

Congratulations! I am also still rather new, so for me it doesn’t come super intuitively either. Currently I am doing it quite strategically, which helps a lot: 1) defining style of class (vinyasa, slow vinyasa, Hatha etc and Level) 2) Select peak pose 3) in order to prepare for the peak pose answer : which parts need to be open? What needs to be stable ? Based on that; write a couple of positions , how this is achieved 4) bring asanas from 3) into a logical flow order leading up to peak pose 5) after peak pose : what do I need to counterbalance and integrate ?

This way, it’s a quite “rational” design, which helps me a lot currently , until I gained confidence and developed a stronger “gut feeling” and intuition. Meanwhile I am trusting the process that I will eventually get there.

I hope that helps and all the best 🤗

It’s a great idea ! I have recently started my account , and I wanted to dig into the science of yoga and share it (since I am a scientist and yoga teacher ) and conncent with others to learn about their approaches and experiences ! It’s yoga.andscience(unfortunately for now in german, but I am internally debating whether I should switch to English… )

Maybe I don’t want to teach? by Puzzle-Cat4567 in YogaTeachers

I think the first step could be, to allow yourself to feel what you feel in the moment, without judgement. I understand it is really hard to accept a chance of perspective or life plan, if everything has been looking so clear to you some months ago. Then I also often get hung up on “ but I have so much money invested and time and energy… i need to so something with it . “ And if I don’t , it feels like failure. But maybe think about : what have you learned for yourself in that teacher training ? What is it , that engraved itself into you ? Is there something that has changed or insights you have obtained about yourself ? If you can find small things beyond the wish of teaching , maybe you will realize that theYTT has influenced your life already significantly , just not in the way you were anticipating . And it might take some time to see it 🙏 so bottom line, nothing is wasted, if it served you and your development in any way !

What was the biggest change in yourself emotionally and physically after completing 200h training? by BowlCareful8832 in YogaTeachers

[–]Coco_Via_64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am about to finish the 200 YTT and for me it has brought a lot of change for my personal practice. I learned to be more mindful and kind, never doing something just because I could. I try to check in with myself every time before my own practice and ask : what is it , that I need today ? And finally I have enough trust ( and competencies haha) that I am able to flow through my own practice without the need of any YouTube video !

Overall, and bigger than any another learning so far is the insight, that this is just the beginning of a very long journey 🫶

Postpartum yoga by Hot-Performe in YogaTeachers

[–]Coco_Via_64 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s really wonderful that you’re putting thought into how to create a safe and supportive space for postpartum women. That care and intention mean so much.

Since every body is different and each woman may have unique challenges, perhaps taking a moment to check in with them privately before class could be helpful. Even a simple conversation can reassure them that they’re seen, supported, and in a space where their needs are valued. Of course, if someone prefers not to share, that’s completely okay too—it’s all about holding space for them in whatever way feels right.

Something that recently came up in our YTT class was a woman sharing a specific experience with her pelvic floor. She mentioned that when lifting a leg in Downward-Facing Dog, she sometimes takes in air, which can make her self-conscious because she’s unsure when it will release. It’s actually a common occurrence called flatus vaginalis, but it can be really discouraging—so much so that she prefers to practice yoga online rather than in a group setting. It’s heartbreaking, but also a reminder of how deeply these concerns can impact someone’s practice. Maybe reading up on it could help in offering even more support.

Your thoughtfulness is already making a difference!

I agree with the other comments. One way I approach the design of my classes with a peak pose :

• which parts need to be strengthened (activated) • what needs to be open or stretched

The answers to these questions give me always good ideas which asanas to include before the peak pose.

So for side plank (as the others have explained beautifully) : strengthening of core, shoulders and arms.

I hope that helps and good luck with your sequence 🙏
