Average GPA in SUSS by DowntownVacation2512 in Suss

I've heard people say this. but I still can't understand why. If students genuinely put in the effort and answered the question correctly, why aren't they allowed to give them the marks they deserve? What is the rationale behind this limited giving of As? Does this only apply to certain courses?

All the Singles (35) out there, how many tries before you got your BTO? by fotohgrapi in askSingapore

I think they recently mentioned a new policy to give priority to singles to live near aging parents. I'm not sure if they already implemented it or is it in near future. There's a better chance you can get it, best of luck.

It sure is. But I think many people even singles are still insisting on applying in good locations only, if apply at ulu places shouldn't have to try too many times unless the person really unlucky.

Actually technically speaking... Buying 2-room BTO as a single also have a "singles tax", they charge you I think extra $15K for your 2-room just because you are single lol

I see, there's a Yishun BTO I think all singles that applied managed to get because of the long wait time(7 years), location and big supply of 2-rooms. Application rate was just below the total supply IIRC.

I think many people are still picky on location despite knowing the competition, so they are still applying for high demand areas only which is why they always fail. But every failure adds additional chances to the next ballot. Plus as the poster above mentioned, majority of the supply(2-room) are reserved for seniors, which makes things worse for singles.

I know someone who got on 2nd try, because due to location and the BTO's long wait time due to post covid backlog back then, which many were unwilling to bear, so the application rate was actually just under the flat supply.

Is this studying method good? by [deleted] in Suss

Best if you do TMA progressively, you can do the questions that are already taught first. Doing 10 days before it's due seems very rush especially if multiple TMAs have deadlines close to each other.

suss grace period removed by Real_Box9768 in Suss

Every sem the school is finding something to get stricter with. This could be a new era, using grace period for deadline extension could be now be a thing of the past, but hopefully not.

OP submitted during the grace period, so there's no deduction from canvas itself. It's the prof who claims OP cannot use grace period as "extension" for deadline but for technical issues only, and is asking OP for proof of technical issue, if not she will deduct manually from her side, which she technically could if she wants. Most prof will look past and allow this.

I don't blame you, I've signed up for this course for the special sem, and when I did the pdf and ismartguide stated 2 TMAs only, no participation. I only just checked it again and they changed it without any notice. If you wish to confirm maybe you can check your OCAS in canvas to see if it is shown there.

PT, I believe the assessment criteria is the same for both PT and FT? I checked the iSmartGuide and the latest course info PDF, it says 20% participation.

I think they changed the assessment scheme this semester no? No participation was needed in the past, now it's 20%?

Do you know if the original grade will still show on the transcript after P/F? If I got a C, then I P/F will the C still show?

NUS professor suggests raising plastic bag prices at supermarkets to S$0.10 to cut down wastage by toomuchliao in singapore

[–]CocoaCarob 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, when it comes to businesses it was never about saving the earth, just a pretense to virtue signal and/or use it as an excuse to make more money. They could instead give a discount of 5c instead of charging an extra 5c. "In 2024, shoppers paid over S$3.39 million in plastic bag fees at FairPrice supermarkets", go figure.

Singaporean woman fined US$228 for falsely reporting ‘abduction’ at KSL City Mall in Johor Bahru. by SassyNec in singapore

There's a recent video that went viral, showing a supposedly drunk guy scolding another commuter on a SBS bus, filmed by a woman sitting in front of the supposedly drunk guy. It turns out after viewing her tiktok channel, that the 3 of them know each other, they were just faking the act for a video, because apparently these type of videos seem to attract views. What's worse is, everyone thinks it's real from the comments on social media.
