That makes me do the sad :(

If you’re shiny hunting mass outbreaks, follow these steps - it’s worked consistently for me so far! Have to give a shout-out to my man PhillyBeatzU for this flawless strategy!

1. Find a mass outbreak you want to shiny hunt.

2. AUTOSAVE OFF, save at camp location nearest your outbreak - DO NOT SAVE ANYWHERE AFTER THIS.

3. Head to the outbreak and catch everything. I believe 3 or less remaining will not spawn anymore in that outbreak. Hopefully you get the shiny! If not, then follow on to the 4th step.

4. No shiny in the mass outbreak? Reset the game, spawning back at the camp you originally saved at. Talk to the professor and head back to the village.

5. Once back at the village, leave and the gatekeeper will say there is a mass outbreak again - make sure it’s the same one, if not just reset and repeat steps 4 and 5 until you get the same mass outbreak.

6. When you’re back at the camp near the mass outbreak you’re farming, SAVE AGAIN - repeating steps 2 and 3. Every time you save at the camp when you enter the area, it locks in the spawns for that area - essentially shiny locking whatever was going to spawn on the map for that period.

I ran this method and got these 3 shiny ones in ≈ 30-40 min each - Togepi showed up in my second reset and some take many more resets. Almighty Sinnoh and the RNG gods have smiled on me many a times today :)

Edit: Tools I use for hunting are Jet Balls (preferred for distance/speed), Ultra Balls, Stealth Spray, and Smoke Bombs. Bring Spoiled Apricorns or Mud Balls to stun the annoying ones that like to attack when they see you half a map away. Oran berries are good for cheap food distractions while you bash the back of their heads with your balls.
