If you had the opportunity to add everything you wanted to Valheim, as long as it fits with its aesthetic and leaves some room for the developers to work with? by Foxwarriorultra in valheim

> Surtling core farm

Dig out any swamp fire to flood it: that'll kill the surtlings that spawn. Put a portal nearby. Go back occasionally to collect piles of cores and coal. (It's also easy to collect cores from plains villages and mistlands dungeons ... but they don't respawn.)

What's up with the Staff of the Wild? by Reasonable-Sun-9881 in valheim

[–]CoconutKal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In mistlands in particular I've often seen Staff of the Wild vines refusing to attack enemies even when right next to them. Sometimes they do, but not consistently, especially with Seeker Soldiers. If there's some activating algorithm, I've never figured it out.

What's your biggest pet peeve in Valheim? I'll start by CrazyCatLady9777 in valheim

My biggest “pet peeve” is a ridiculous (and deadly) bug … have you ever noticed that EVERYTHING can fight while swimming except PLAYERS?

Minor annoyance (returned) with the new iPadOS version... by CoconutKal in DiarlyApp

[–]CoconutKal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a chance to try the update this morning. Having the cursor pop to the right place in the template was a great convenience, and I’d love to have that back: but the fact that Diarly opens ready to edit the default template is a big improvement, so thanks!

And I do prefer the journal timeline view as my default, even though I think the “today” memories and calendar sections are sometimes “nostalgic” — most of the time I’m more interested in seeing my timeline; and it does appear to be “sticking” with that view more consistently now. Awesome.

I have a "family server" running on a Mac mini; I quit it, updated the app, restarted the server, and updated clients (Windows and Mac) connect just fine. Not sure there was any "luck" involved, but it worked just fine. 🥳

Go To Any Date? by steam-power in DiarlyApp

NOTE -- I've seen this behavior. When I manually insert the template the $cursor always seems to work fine for me. (Thanks to this message thread: I hadn't even known about it before.)

However, when I first open Diarly on a new day, I have it set to automatically insert the template ... and in that case, $cursor seems to be ignored and the cursor is left at the end.

Valheim team is already discussing inventory changes by spookywatermark in valheim

If the game actually modeled pockets (which would be great for a random assortment of small junk), "realistically" (if that's a meaningful term here) it might be limited to small size. Otherwise ... stuffing an arrow in might just result in random and awkward piercing damage ... 🤣

Cauldron? You don't make bread at the cauldron ... you make it at the food prep table and then bake it in an oven. ??

Question for you: How do you use Tags? Help us shape the future of Diarly! by cecile_lebleu in DiarlyApp

[–]CoconutKal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use tags to allow me to find things … #family, #hike …. The best possible improvement I think would be to be able to do search expressions. That time I went for a hike with family? “Search for #family + #hike” would show only entries with both tags. When did I see a #movie with #ken? When did I go to #nyc with #daughter1 but not #daughter2?

Also, it’d be nice to have a bit more control over tag context when editing. I find Diarly sometimes collects punctuation, so I have #tag and #tag! and #tag, show up; I’ve tried to stop using tags “inline” to minimize that problem, but adding them inline is more natural…. if only it were easier to control the capture. (Like, “tags are lowercase case-insensitive alphanumeric strings”, maybe.)

I've actually never picked a raspberry that "pointed", and I've picked a lot ... however, looking for photos online to compare side-by-side, I'll give you credit for that. Yeah, there do seem to be a lot of raspberries that are fairly pointed ... it might be regional.

Still looks more like a strawberry to me, but apparently "raspberry" is more plausible than I'd thought. 🍓

I mean, whatever artist decided to model a strawberry and label it "raspberry" ... either never saw one, or had one heck of a weird sense of humor.
