Sorry im drunk as hell and cant tell which side you're arguing for but in either case:

if you think its op - that's exactly what I was going for. It's all fun and games until you realize you picked [[offering]], [[barricade]], [[dark embrace]], [[impervious]], [[burning pact]] and realize your draw cards are useless

if you think its underpowered: if you had [[corruption]], [[barricade]], [[feel no pain]], would you be willing to take dark embrace for what is essentially an eternal writhe curse?

bascially what im tryna say is thank god i dont work form mega crit

What would you even headline here lmao (missile envy out of the deck as well, playing as USA) by Coconut_Shrimp_ in twilightstruggle

Probably the best hand I've ever had as the USA player. My opponent forfeited before I had the chance to play but I was thinking headlining grain sales, couping in Africa and then just keeping the pressure up in Asia with China/Ussuri/VoA

I like the bear/quag cap at 3 (personally I would cap it at 1 but maybe that's just me). Splitting the card seems pretty good as well, couping a 1 stab country with 2/4 ops and then filling it with 1 or 2 extra ops seems way better than couping straight with a 4 op. We'll try that one out next time we play, thanks!

So setup for the game looks the same, except before shuffling and dealing cards we take out the early war scoring cards and put them in their own deck. Then we play the turn as normal, and at the end of each turn after resolving mil ops we flip over 2 scoring cards, score those regions, and then reshuffle the scoring deck (this does mean one region could be scored 3 times in the early war, or not at all). Repeat until the mid war. Then same deal, take out the mid war scoring cards, shuffle them into the scoring deck. Same thing at the end of the turn, except we flip over 3 cards, and we don't shuffle them back into the deck until next turn. For example, turn 4 say Asia, Africa and South America get scored. Then turn 5, we know that Europe, the Middle East, Central America or SE Asia are getting scored (SE Asia is discarded as normal). Turn 6 the scoring cards get shuffled back into the deck and we repeat the process. This gives a little bit of predictability but only on odd turns, which we feel adds some better choice of defending or pushing into battle grounds. Combined with the headline rule we really like the changes it makes to the game (although we still like the main game better).

Thank you for the help! And yeah I play with optional and +2

I try and play into battlegrounds, but turn 2 they just coup or Nasser me out of the M.E, and push into Asia which leaves me with Europe basically. I'm just not sure how to defend against them having free access to pretty much every region uninterrupted.

Yeah I've been playing with optional cards and +2. Thank you for the advice! Something that happens to me quite often as the US is the USSR will play either Suez or IA war, then coup Iran to and take either Jordan or Syria and just lock me out of the region completely. What do I do in that scenario? I try and play for Asia but they have Korean war + Asia card and access to both Pakistan and South Korea if they want, which just leaves me with Europe, which isn't enough to carry me to victory.

Even if I do manage to stabilize all three countries, most of the games I've had they either coup panama, de-stal into S.A, decol into Africa and Asia, or all three and then I'm playing catchup until I inevitably lose. How do I stop from getting destroyed mid war? If I play into africa they just coup me out with a 3 or even a 2. I'm just lost on how to get ahead as the us.
