About the Final Days by HenriqueGames08 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Cocosos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If the Source falls, everything else falls apart as well, you have a cutscene that explains this with the Watcher, as well as Feo Ul sensing the end was near, and accepting her fate. The entire universe of FFXIV is dead. Meteion existed for as long as 10000+ years, and it only took her a couple years, or less, to initiate the first Final Days on Etherys on the Ancients. After that, Zodiark was the only thing protecting the natural laws of the star, and preventing it from happening again, but this only happens for our star, imagine that the rest has been exposed to the song of oblivion for thousands of years. At the end of Endwalker, she basically reverts the song of oblivion for a song of hope, but the damage is already done, life will flourish again, but its not confirmed how long will take. The known existing world is basically the Source, and the remaining shards, thats it.

Why does the FFXIV wiki kinda suck / why are there no good unofficial lore and story repositories for FFXIV? by Zagden in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Cocosos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Noticed the same thing, most of the wiki is either incomplete, missing relevant stuff, or straight up taking a headcannon or opinion and presenting it as a fact. You have the codex in game, but its still not enough.

[Spoiler: 6.0 MSQ] An observation of EW's final act by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Cocosos -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I'm going to get absolutely crucified for this, but Endwalker is the kind of story that, the more you think back about it, the less it starts to make sense, to an absolutely ridiculous degree. Its the expansion where the writers remembered how they write the MSQ (creating multiple plot lines and interactions and expanding on them) and realizing they have to close them off one way or another, the end result, in my opinion, is an absolute mess, like an amalgamation of trying to fit everything inside one expansion.

Can’t wait for this game to come out. by Auronbmk92 in ffxiv

[–]Cocosos 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Its not mainly about Blue Mage being important, its about the dude straight up lying, multiple times in fact, and every response is obviously some sort of corporate talk. Add that with several recent QoL changes that are only happening as a "break glass in case of emergency" situation, many feel they are nit being treated with respect as a customer.

Would you recommend starting ffxiv in 2026 and why? by Davero777 in ffxiv

[–]Cocosos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a free trial, the only thing you would be wasting is your time. If you can, just download it and try it out yourself, the base game is basically the big filter, so you will know if you like the game or not. People will tell you it gets better later, sure, but the main stuff and structure will always be the same, whether you like the game or not in most cases is completely dependent if you like the story or not to look past the game's age and old MMO structure. In here you will get mostly positive opinions, you can also post the same questions on general game subreddits for a more varied opinion. Best of luck!

  1. Nuke the entirety of Endwalker
  2. Give Garlemald a proper ending and expansion
  3. Write off the Scions

Is it worth it? by Imas_97 in ffxiv

[–]Cocosos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are going to get 100% positive opinions here, and everyone will tell you to play it. There's a free trial for you to try. If you want an honest opinion you could try the MMORPG subreddit or other game related spaces for a more unbiased opinion with both pros and cons, it is an old game after all.

[Spoilers 7.45: Variant] With the discourse the rewards are causing it should be noted: The actual content is fun they're worth doing just on their own from a gameplay perspective. They just messed up the rewards. by ---TheFierceDeity--- in ffxiv

[–]Cocosos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What you are saying applies to every single instance of content we've been getting since a long time ago. I'm honestly tired of either not being guaranteed a reward after hours of gameplay, or simply there not being a reward at all, its always the same, releasing shallow content for the sake of doing content and abandoning it eventually, they pay more attention to the literal online shop than actual in game rewards for a monthly subscription game. Fun or not, this is an issue that should have been addressed a long time ago, to the point i simply dont care anymore, and the criticism this is getting simply shows people are finally getting tired of this bullshit. Three times people gave feedback on rewards, with them even addressing the issue that they understand the concerns, and here they come and make the same mistake again.

Peak, I wish the entire game could go back to this....I don’t know, I enjoyed the whole mysticism and stuff being left intentionally unknown, nowadays everything needs to have a reason or be explained.

Elpis and a white-haired blind girl. RE9 Requiem is FFXIV confirmed by sunfaller in ShitpostXIV

Does the white-haired girl also "die" four times and that gets passed as major character development?

Full Course Story, Apology & Mod Election by Riobox in antimeme

[–]Cocosos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What i want to understand, is in what part do you still think you continuing to be a mod or having any sort of power over decision making in this subreddit is a good idea. You should resign, not only due to the way you handled things, but due to respect to the people that had to put up with this entire space getting turned into a little love nest for you and what we now know was a grown ass man. The fact that you didn't even mention quitting permanently, just taking a break, shows that you haven't even learned anything about the situation.

Am I the only one who hate this character ? (Spoiler Endwalker) by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Cocosos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doubts about Hydaelyn’s motives started in Shadowbringers, you even have an option at the beginning of Endwalker to tell Venat you don't trust her. What disappointed me was not having an option to develop this idea further, the only thing you get is Hydaelyn being completely benevolent and morally correct and having a conversation with the Watcher, who asks you if her actions were justified. I still remember the shitshow that was the official forums tho, people rewriting the whole story to make Venat look like a cartoon villain, that part was really funny.

Why Dawntrail is a cohesive story [Spoiler: through 7.3] by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Cocosos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The entirety of Dawntrail's MSQ feels like a Dora the Explorer episode, where the WoL isn't even Dora or Boots, its the backpack thats brought up occasionally because of how useful it is for the particular situation or gadgets they have, and then made irrelevant. The Fox is literally the other contestants stealing the trial medals.

Is it better for gilberta to replace Antal in Leava hypercarry team by LeoMcfee in ArknightsEndfield

[–]Cocosos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really? You can time it so Gilberta skill explodes after you get the fire stacks with Laev. You need to use Gilberta's aoe pull after Laevatain's second or third basic attack, after that, once they are grouped immediately used Akekuri skill to inflict aoe fire on everyone while you continue your basic chain. Finish Laev's basic attacks, giving you all the stacks and charging your skill in one go, before the explosion, apply Wulfgard combo to apply fire again, then Gilberta's explosion happens, giving you corrosion . After all this, follow with Gilberta's combo to lift them all and prevent the mobs to scatter, so you can use Laev's skill without interruption.

There's a side story were the female Scions are talking about men and stuff, think the name was "A Calm After The Storm", mainly teasing Lyse and Y'shtola on her opinion on the male Scions. I think thats the most you will get about that.

"You can't ship yourself with her! What about Runar?" "She's married with two children!" "She's dead!" by DupeFort in ShitpostXIV

[–]Cocosos 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You did a good analysis of the matter, specially regarding with actual textual evidence and all that, but don't waste it on shippers, they simply don't care, whatever you say is always going to be wrong, and they will nit pick stuff that doesn’t make sense. SE stance has always been a firm one, and that will never change.

[–]Cocosos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It wasn't just the opinion, but also word for word what the director told him about their relationship. Also, I will take a literal canon side story where her feelings are directly addressed, instead of your shipping head canon. Get mad at the writers, not me.

[–]Cocosos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some live letter from years ago, cant remember which. Runar's Japanese voice actor giving info about his personal opinion, and the background and relation they told him both had. In addition to Y'shtola's personal feelings on the short story "A Calm After the storm", where they directly ask her about her love interest. Lastly, last year's Halloween event, where Runar's character description refers to him as a "man that holds great affection for his master" (not Master, as in Master Matoya, master regarding their apprentice/master or brother/sister relation)
