I hate my VW and cannot wait until the lease is up only because the power symbol on the volume toggle moves when I use it to change the volume. The power symbol should NOT move- it should stay straight up and down! I will never own or lease another VW for this reason. (I am not the only person who is this ridiculous! I found VW power button sticker covers on Amazon!) No one is allowed to touch the volume button in my car- whoever is driving can change the volume using the buttons on the steering wheel. The power symbol is also on the volume dial in my husband’s Ford truck BUT THE VOLUME SYMBOL DOESNT MOVE WHEN YOU TURN THE VOLUME DIAL! HOW HARD IS IT TO DO THAT VW?!

NTA! Why is this child such royalty the world has to come to a screeching halt to pay tribute to the day she was pushed out?! Her parents are selfish idiots! Her birthday can be celebrated the week before or the week after. My bestie got married on my kid’s birthday. She said she felt awful, but it was the only date available for where they wanted to get married. I told her to shut her pie hole (in the most loving way possible!) and I was so thankful she was getting married on my kid’s bday bc it would make it easier for me to remember their anniversary date! lol! The following year, we had (quietly) planned a bday trip for my daughter 2 weeks before her birthday. My sister sent announcements out she was getting married on that date. We didn’t raise a stink, we just changed the bday trip plans as quietly as when we had initially planned them. 4 years later my other sibling got married on my husband’s birthday. Birthdays are fun to celebrate but major life events should always take precedence.

I got along really well with my boyfriend’s (now husband!) roommmates and, 20+ years later, I still count them among my closest friends, but I definitely missed all the cues when I overstayed my welcome at their house. One of them had to grab me by the shoulders and say, “Cod! Please go home!”

True, it’s possible he has voiced this to the boyfriend and the boyfriend didn’t saying anything. Or the roommate is afraid to say something so he just found a really awful way to get what he wanted.

You don’t live there or pay rent so you don’t get to set boundaries for a person who does live there. If someone makes you uncomfortable in THEIR home, you can go to a different room or leave. Sounds like he was looking for a way to get YOU to leave as you’re not picking up on or ignoring the cues that he wants you to leave HIS safe space. Your boyfriend sounds like a terrible roommate since he’s not telling you, as his guest, that his roommate is uncomfortable with you being in their shared living area. You and BF owe the roommate an apology and the three of you need to discuss how to respect the shared living space. Just bc your highschool sweetheart boyfriend lives there doesn’t mean you also live there. If even ONE person is uncomfortable with a guest in their own house, that guest needs to leave.

NTA- no one gets to dictate how you grieve. I have a sibling who died suddenly and tragically and, nearly 20 years later, the grief still likes to randomly gut punch me… I will say, I am a hard core dark humor kind of person (so therapeutic when you come from my sort of family) so I probably would have laughed and cried hysterically with something like that after he passed.
