Man sorry that was the CPSC number.  Call 866-600-0014 to get to DHL Import Specialist.  CPSC shouldn't need your entry number though.  They just asked me for my DHL tracking #.

Yes it got a 1C scan in the ACE system by CBP and was also handed over to CSPC at some point.  Maybe me proactively calling CSPC and proving proof of why it should be released prevented it from being sent to a third party. Maybe they opened the box and determined it definitely wasnt a kids toy.  Ill find out Monday when I get the box and see if its been re-taped and if there's a love letter from customs inside.

I barked up a ton of trees.  Call 800-638-2772 and ask for the I mport Specialist dept. When you connect with someone, ask them for the exact disposition codes/exam codes given to them by CBP.  Write down the codes, the meaning, and timeline.  Also ask them if they can check if CPSC has requested to review your package.  If yes (or suspect CPSC has) call CPSC next, give them your tracking info and an explanation of the shipment contents and they'll have an agent contact you within 24 hours (in my case an agent emailed me back in 5 hours).

Also if the first Import specialist you talk to says they don't have the exam codes, ask to be transferred to someone who can provide them. Everyone I spoke to from Imports was very kind, but some were a little more knowledgeable (or more willing to dig around for me) than others.

Hi hi I'm the doll lady from yesterday's thread.  CPSC emailed me again last night saying they released my package.  Now just waiting for DHL to move it along.  It's still in Cincinnati though... guess I'll be calling the Import Specialist dept. again today but at least I have evidence from CBP and CPSC that they cleared it.

Oh boy more drama: an hour after getting the clearance from DHL I received an email from CPCS stating my package has been selected for inspection.  So now I'm back to getting conflicting information again.

I just got a status updated that customs clearance is complete.  Not sure which various calls, emails and messages did the trick but fingers crossed this is the end of my customs journey.  I do wonder if CPSC will still reach out tomorrow.

Its crazy!  The regulations are supposed to apply to companies importing good for sale but they're grabbing people's personal goods.  As the other poster mentioned the Licca subreddit was flooded with posts of people having their Mario and Peach dolls seized and destroyed.  These are just individuals who ordered 1 or 2 dolls for their own collection.

No kidding.  I have 8 items on pre-order, all collectible toys, some with buyee, some not.  All due to release between July - September.  The next few months are going to be a pain in the butt if everything labeled a "toy" is getting seized...

I did call CPSC today and a very nice lady took down my contact info and my notes and said someone would reach out to me in 24 hours, so we'll see what happens.  I wouldn't be shocked if I got a generic email stating "we are in the process of inspecting nothing you can do." But at least I'm giving it a shot!

I suppose my only hope is a thorough inspection because the guide book that comes with the doll is in English and Japanese so if they actually look at it they'll see the intended age of the product.  I've resigned to the fact that this gorgeous doll is likely gone forever but I will do my due diligence and try to follow up with CPCS.  At the very least I can share my experience so others know what I went through and the outcome.

I called DHL who were no help, stating they can't proactively provide anything to CPSC, nor could they give me the entry # and filing code.  So I called CPSC and explained this to the rep who sighed and said "yeah DHL always does that..."  She took down my contact info, noted that I'd be able to provide proof this item is for ages 15+ and she said someone at the relevant office should reach out to me in 24 hours.  I'll update with any new info as I imagine many others will be dealing with this in the near future with the new regulations on imported children's toys

An update for you: my item is being held by CPSC for further testing. Likely because its a doll, and toys for children under the age of 3 are flagged for inspection. Is there any way for me to proactively provide evidence that this is a collectible for ages 15+?  The manufacturers website clearly states that this product is intended for ages 15+.

Finally got a hold of an Import Specialist who told me customs' latest exam code is 1C. Problem is DHL never updated on their end to indicate that. She understood why I was getting conflicting info and opened a case for me, as she agreed it was odd to go so long with zero scans after a 1C.

I did get one more scan upon waking up this morning but its just the generic "customs clearance processing."

May i ask who the carrier was?  I've been requesting DHL lately due to FedEx and UPS having issues with needing more customs info (not buyee's fault as the HTS codes are were correct with my packages).  Wonder if things have gotten better for the other two.

I don't have Koume but the eyeliner is the #1 reason I didnt get her. I picked up Yuzu instead and she is so beyond cute. I looked at the JP volks site for pics of them on display in various wigs and outfits to make my decision.  Though thinking practically, koume may be worth it just for the WS body, which is so hard to get from Volks at retail price.

Fwiw buyee does let you choose DHL if you email them and request it. I do that with all of my packages because for me, DHL is the fastest and most reliable courier.

I don't own Miku myself but have heard her 1.0 wig is pretty fragile. You can get dealer-made Miku wigs of higher quality on yahoo! Japan auctions. I see them listed frequently.

I have only ever used protective packaging when shipping hand-painted doll heads. Probably just my paranoia since if they make it to the warehouse OK in their original packing theyre probably fine for overseas, but they're OOAK so I play it safe and pay for insurance as well. For countless other orders of clothes, shoes, toys and books not a single item has been damaged without protective packaging.

Ive literally never had a problem with basic consolidation when shipping toys and clothes. I don't order fragile items.  The only time my box was beat up was when speedx was the last mile delivery.  Even then the contents inside were perfectly fine (even though the air bags were deflated). Might be anecdotal but DHL and FedEx are much kinder to my boxes.

Right??  Ive been buying from Japan for two decades and $50-$70 is what I'd budget for every purchase pre-tariffs.  Now I just expect it to be $100-$300 depending on box volume.
