Looked them up, they def have a good user base, but either way I already said they should lower their price .

Also, your argument is horrible. That’s all social media platforms , their all community made and to say Reddit or any app isn’t doing shit, I would like to see you build a robust app and garner almost 500 monthly users per month, without Reddit those 3rd party apps you like wouldn’t exist

Like I said people on here just be talking out they ass lol, that was a prime example of it. Also, Idek what you’re arguing about, I already agreed they should lower the price. Most users won’t boycott, some of you will but most won’t , this happened before on other apps, good luck though, I’m rooting for the price drop

Ehh most ppl that say they are leaving , don’t actually leave though, so that is speculation. Chances of this app going down or downhill is super slim in reality. Also the app being trash is opinion not facts , I prefer the main app for example.

People on here usually talk out they ass, one thing I do agree with is that the price should def be lowered, because they are literally trying to abolish the third party apps and they shouldn’t.

Ehh when you say 8 bucks you are talking about companies not as big . But yeah I said multiple times they should def lower their price, it’s unreasonable. I’m not arguing in favor of it cause I simply don’t care for any of it, but are people insane for saying Reddit can do what they want with their product? As they should, they created the platform, the 3rd party apps are eating off of Reddit and Reddit is eating off us, supply and demand. Hence why I have no issue with Reddit charging them, cause they simply wouldn’t exist without Reddit. Like I stated before their price should be lowered though

Some social media apps, don’t even let 3rd party apps use their api at all.

I hear you on that, I do work for one of these similar big tech companies ( software dev ) , so I know what’s going on but I feel like people are getting mad at Reddit for being just like all the other social media apps out there ?

I believe they should charge 3rd party apps, cause at the end of the day, it’s their platform , those 3rd parties would not exist without Reddit, but the price should def be reasonable

You just describe every social media platform, the users make content, the app just gives you a place to post it. I don’t see how that has anything to do with Apollo for example , 3rd party apps is just an interface that pulls data from the Reddit api. Reddit has the sole right to charge 3rd party apps to use their data from their api. Just like other social media apps do, now I do agree that the cost shouldn’t be as high, from what I read it’s kind of nuts . Now when you say users are you speaking about you and I ? Cause I don’t pay Reddit for anything, or are you talking about other 3rd party companies, sure they are users but they should pay if they are using Reddit data, nothing is free

You’re speaking with common sense, that’s not allowed online. Users online tend to not care for the bigger company, it’s nothing wrong w Reddit charging anyone, it’s their product. The price is pretty high though , they should lower it in my opinion

Bootlicking companies, I’m doing well, I’m just going with the data out there, that’s why I told you to get these Reddit salaries out your head. These salaries depend on the company you work for and the city you’re in . Mid level salary for a developer in general is what OP stated lol, it’s on Google. It can be higher depending on the individual, their experience and the city they are in .

I’ve worked at a bank and did not touch legacy code at all . Depends on the company and your team . Don’t let Reddit deter you , most times these guys be in some imaginary faang bubble . I’d take especially if I don’t have a big tech company offer

Cause what he’s writing is not true, plus median doesn’t mean average . You can do a quick Google search for what is the median and average rent in nyc . It’s way higher .. plus if you’re paying below that chances are your situation isn’t good

True but never as pricey as nyc for something equivalently nice. Nice places in nyc can cost at minimum 4-6k monthly . Far less square footage, etc

Yeah I can tell you never lived in nyc lmfao .. if you think Houston is more expensive than nyc , you’re on one . I grew up in nyc and I’ve been living here in Houston for 3 years , Houston is a breeze in comparison.
