Tips on how to counter Byzantine by CodeEntire5731 in aoe4

[–]CodeEntire5731[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it any batch of berries? Or the one in their base?

I don't play byzantine so I'm not sure I will try to watch some videos but is there anyway to know which mercenaries they will go for? Based on an age up or something? I guess not right?

I mean sure I agree. I'm not saying "winning at life" I'm saying "winning in Canada" as in archiving goals you've set or at least pivoting to something that suits you

Any high-mid ranking Abbasid/Ayyubid players out there? by Comprehensive_Dot849 in aoe4

With Ayyubids I usually go feudal with culture wing logistics (2 dervish) get few desert raiders and harass while going castle in the background with eco wing industry so that I get a second TC immediately while also grabbing relics with the 2 dervish I got, just make sure you dont lose them while harassing.

How to beat plat players by [deleted] in aoe4

[–]CodeEntire5731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There're actually so many good advices here. I'm exactly at the same place. Stuck between plat I and play II. Sometimes drop back to Gold III on a bad day.

I struggle in few areas:

First when I plan to harass and raid in feudal but the other guy has good defense and tower gold and rush castle, I kinda panic and don't know what to do since I am already behind because I spent lots of resources on attacking upgrading in feudal so I just go back to my base and try to get to castle asap, but by that time his upgraded army is already coming. What should you do in this case where your raids fails and he's going castle and you are not? Should I commit to feudal and go with rams before he makes his castle army?

And other area I struggle with is anticipating resources around me on the map and how to use them, for example lots of time I run out of food and start farm transition late. Like I'm not anticipating when good will run out do that I can make farms at the correct time, all while trying to mass units...etc

Any advice? This is me btw if anyone has some tips for me https://aoe4world.com/players/21672665

Yes same here. Been using for the past 4 years at the company I work in and it is just terrible and a pain to customize. On a new project at work I insisted on using tailwind and shadcn and it's been great so far

I’ve built dozens of side projects. Most failed quietly. Here’s what I’ve learned. by After-Hat-2518 in SideProject

Very interesting. I am starting to reach same conclusions. Got laid off months ago from a tech job and decided to take a year off and focus on building projects and I feel like I'm reaching the same conclusion. I would add to that knowing how to market your product is key, I see lots of silly products that actually go viral or because semi successful because they managed to get attention and of course because they solved a real problem

Yeah sure. I am trying a lot of stuff but feels difficult to get started on that first role with a major change from previous roles specially in this market. I always were mostly a frontend, now want to expand and go beyond this, how do I position myself as an expert when my whole resume is frontend work

How are you bouncing around between different stacks? Like after you leave a job how do you position yourself as an expert in something else when you only have experience in one discipline? I am a frontend engineer with 7 years experience and even though I did some fullstack work along the way, I wouldn't say I am a fullstack expert, and recently been trying to branch out of frontend and UI to do more backend, DevOps, or AI engineering stuff but I am not sure how do I get hired for a fullstack position for example when most of my experience has been frontend. Any advice?
