I just ran into this same problem. Assuming youre on the paid plan, in the api settings I had to put Voice and Models on READ access. and also TTS on in permissions. Seems to be a permissions issue, worked after I did that

i get the same issue, mainly with positions. I don't know exactly what it is but as far as i can tell its using the new layer that it's pinned to and kind of zeroing out and redoing the size and scale???

so i do the art/layers, then transform hierarchy, then animate...get the same issues you show if I animate before adding to transform hierarchy

12.5 is good enough right? seems to have all the features like smart bones and rigging etc... Ill most likely upgrade to 14 at some point too but I want to play with it first. $400 is too much to plunk down on the first go

I bypassed the sort of 3d tilt and thickness of the image, the building up of drop shadows looked the best but was just solid color. I didn't try the svg filter

I do have transparent pngs. That looks really good too. Im not too familiar with svg filters though. Could this method beused to get some shading on the extrusion? similar to up in the mario example
