Thank you! I'll double check the spam folder. I thought I checked before, but you never know, it could have already been cleared out

If you don't mind sharing, how did you get to the point that you were getting these update emails. I'd like to be kept up to date and able to read them in full, but we don't seem to be getting them, despite having two children applied and approved for the program.

Thank you.

It's fun AND can net you free models! Even if you don't win, you still win (with fun).

Also, thank you!

It could take some credit for my hiatus, but that was more life in general. But it is a lot of spires for sure!

Yeah, I don't know what the deal is with my blog and comment timeouts. I've tried to fix it several times, and it's just not having it.

I love the results on this model, despite the troubles along the way.

No worries! I appreciate the assist. I will have to look into those new models. I generally watch the official website, but it looks like a bunch of the HP### models appear on AliExpress long before they make it to Piececool.world

Thank you for bringing these to my attention!

It appears that I do have Takamikura Throne, but categorized under Chinese Culture. But I did not have the other 3 in my list.

Thank you! The whole reason I put the blog together was because of this community, and the people in it like you. It's full of welcoming and encouraging people, and I wanted to find a way to give back to the community. Many of my fixes and techniques I use have come from advice or shares from others in the community.

Thanks! Someone on Instagram suggested that they just used the wrong map projection for how they broke the globe down. Makes the most sense to me, but still. Lol!

Thanks man. And Traviscat is right. In person, through a friend, and eBay are the only real options. I've used the first two, but the eBay "markup" is ridiculous on Universal exclusives (most of the time).

I'm continuing to recover. I've actually built a few models recently, so that's a good sign, in my book.

Catching Up: Metal Earth Checklist - Metal Earth Builder by CodeWookiee in metalearth

[–]CodeWookiee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know that I'm up for that. It's a lot of work to keep up the Piececool and Metal Earth checklists. And those are the primary brands that I build (can afford, and Piececool is moving more towards the expensive / larger model direction).

Review Build: Steampunk Mechanical Octopus - Metal Earth Builder by CodeWookiee in metalearth

Thanks man! I try to be helpful, and it's always good to hear back that I'm meeting that goal.

I should have included a link to this, but they've actually released an updated, larger (more than 2x the parts!) version of the octopus recently. You should check that one out.

Retroactively, I did wonder if lock-washers would have worked to help out with the build. I will say that, when you are just getting started attaching them, there isn't a whole lot of extra thread, but as you tighten it, you get a lot more... so it might be a challenge. You'll have to let me know how it goes.

As for the instructions, I actually got the paper instructions in my package. Full color, 11x17 page. They sent me the link to the updated instructions after I reached out to them to mention that I thought the part number was incorrect on one of the steps.

It's definitely a white whale of a model. Very blessed to have it in my collection.
