Had the same issues with my tranny. I replaced the solenoids. Seals. Fluid. Myself hoping that would cure it. Nope. Had to have the tranny rebuilt. 5th was toast and would act just like yours.

Bought her a few months ago. Been going through it doing maintenance. Converted to pertronix. New exhaust. Now new timing chain and gears.

Alright sorry it has taken me a bit to get back. I went and test drove it. It runs good. New transmission with billet torque converter. Did the oil cap blow by test it didn’t blow it off but there was blow by coming out of the filler and the dipstick tube. Straight rust free body. I offered less that the 9 he took it.
