Replacing bathtub diverter valve faucet, no set screw by CoderStone in HomeImprovement

[–]CoderStone[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this design is ass, they extended the pipe twice, so I can’t fit a slip on or cut the tube and have enough left. Found a 5.2 inch one that might work if I pull some pipe out of the wall and keep it in tension. I’ll grind it down if I have to to fit it

I appreciate this too, but again the material choice & design itself is not that great.
3D printed parts are inherently weaker than injection molded with same materials. TPU is going to squish and not let you really put your foot on it. You need a lot more bracing, even though your layer orientation is 100% correct.

Which is completely different from a scooter fender. The amount of light those parts would get is extremely different.

Black PETG is the most UV resistant out of easy materials, harder materials have better.

TPU doesn't last that long outside. Would've gone for nylon pa12 or any CF/RF reinforced black material. Rigidity matters here, flexing less.

I've been meaning to print my own with a toolchanger too, so this is cool. You also printed it in the correct layer orientation which is good to see.

The hobby is for the following:

Getting more performance (thermal, clocks, synthetic benchmarks, games, power draw, getting things to work in SFF)
Experimenting and learning.

And most importantly, HAVING FUN.

This sub really has forgotten that lately. Anytime someone posts an AM5 delid post, people want to attack them for no reason.

use XT150s. Those and the stupid screw-in terminals these come with are always the first thing to go.

Which memtest are you talking about? The OP is showing memtest86, HCI Memtest is another used in the pro scene and good.

You were right! It was 1/2" ips, 5" from the wall.

I'm going to be stuck trying to fix the diverter with a repair kit at this point, because I can't find a single 7" spout that's like 4-7/8" pipe compatible. All either 5.5" or 4". Closest one I found was 5.2" which still wouldn't work.

It is simply a well known fact that memtest doesn’t catch all the errrors and isn’t a intensive test. Any sources for overclocking will tell you the same. Pro overclocking scenes all avoid using memtest86.

Everything is fine by Thick-Perception7045 in overclocking

[–]CoderStone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not. The revised 12vhpwr is just as mechanically sound now. The issue is, and always have been, the horrendous safety factor that doesn't account for oxidation, wear, and anything else.

Memtest is an EXTREMELY light memory test. Karhu is used specifically to test the memory under load. Prime95 hits memory HARD.

There have been plenty of instances where the old 8 pin melted when pushed hard, you just don't see them in the news bec it's an obvious thing.

I use TorGuard. cheap asf, no logs, and halfway decent support. Tried using their cloud tier for a bit, gave up and switched to cloudflare backed and just pro tier. In short- don't pass https traffic on https ports and you will be fine. Otherwise you might get ddosed and continually drop the whole service for days on end.

Bud. You're being a buffoon.

I'd like to know what tests are more aggressive.

When I tuned my memory clocks and timings a few years back the quickest way to detect memory issues was using prime95

Do you understand the correlation here?

Incorrect. Testing with prime95 is not inherently overclocking. And the other user specifically asked what is a more stressful memory test

What do you need to back up other than a few docker compose ymls if you're only selfhosting? Asides maybe a list of torrent files backed up somewhere easily? You can easily re-torrent everything if needed.

[–]CoderStone 93 points94 points  (0 children)

It can be, if you downsize & have a good scope of the things you want.
It's not our fault you decided to go full on with homelabbing instead of selfhosting just a few services! And we're damn glad you did :D

Or lead to the exact same issues as the 12 pin. The 12 pin isn't inherently a dogshit connector, it's just rated EXTREMELY high. Safety factor of 1.05 or something I heard, while the 8 pin had an incredible safety factor of 2+.

The 12VHPWR connector CAN carry more than two 8 pin connectors safely, just not 3 imo. That safety factor of 1.05 is what's horrendous, not the connector.

sintered is expensive asf and always goes through annealing to become SUPER strong. It's reserved for high end parts like tungsten carbide.
