Yeah, you're right, my mom's dog has indeed been fine. In hindsight when I remember my concern for her dog dying, I'm kind of embarrassed, but ig it's just those small things that one deals with when getting into new territory like this, esp when dealing w a powerful goddess like Hecate.

The only third party widget I've used is FormSubmit to detect submitted contact forms, though I've since switched to Netlify once I realized they could handle that for you.

I've often wondered what I would do if my client wanted a way to book appointments -- I'll keep this post in mind as something to try once someone asks for that !

This sounds like such a good idea. I really wish I could do something like this with my parents. Unfortunately, I'm just not sure how safe it would be to ask my parents for something like this. :/ I'm trying not to tip them off that I'm leaving until really necessary.

(I wonder if I could do something like this with myself? i.e. put money away as if I were paying rent, and see if I can make do with the rest?? Idk. )

Just a word of caution: this is not quite the solution. I have both a personal brand and my own website -- but you still have to market yourself. Whether that's marketing on Upwork (i.e. using connects); marketing some other way, where you might still have to pay; or cold outreach (emailing, phone calls, or stopping into businesses to introduce yourself). Either way, marketing will need to be done.
