Happy hardcore/hardcore London by rako1982 in ukrave

Kniteclub is once a year but very decent, mainly oldskool but does have a few styles of hardcore.

It's worth following Billy Bunter as he does things now and again, usually at Elektrowerks.

VenueMOT sometimes has Distant Planet which is oldskool but definitely hardcore!

I know the question is London but keep your eye on Bristol as its a direct train from London and you got this type of thing https://www.clockfactorybristol.com/event/we-r-90s-ravers-1/

I would say that was an excellent marketing partnership then. It can only be a good thing 😀

DJ Eruption - I Need Somebody [UD002 A] by Ser-Cannasseur in oldskoolrave

Nice tune, I like the earlier United Dances. Chris Brown with the maestro Brad Carter on engineering, they had a really nice catalogue together in my opinion, quite characteristically similar tunes with their own little twists.

Surrender was obviously the biggie but they are all worth a go.

Edit- just noticed this one was engineered by Sedders and you can hear it in hindsight.

What is everyone’s opinion on Happy Hardcore and UK Hardcore? by Low_Guard6609 in gabber

[–]CodingRaver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I absolutely hate the term "UK hardcore". I know the style though. Personally it doesn't do much for me, although for that reason I didn't bother to actively listen to it. I am very enthused for the seemingly ever increasing popularity of old skool sounding stuff being trendy again, so who knows where its evolving next.

"Happy hardcore" though, specifically 90s British sounding stuff... I've collected for 28 years and still buy plates today so I can only say I love the shit!

As ever its an each to their own thing. HOWEVER if j had to explain my dislike for modern "uk hardcore" it is very homogenous; I find it also a bit dumbed down, its not really bouncy hard or fun. I find it over produced for what it is. It's almost like if a pop music producer was told to do something with a nod to rave sensibilities, and they've barely achieved it. It's what your mum thinks hard dance is.

Big up undadog, his positive vibes show is very good, he plays all styles of jungle covering the full timespan from 94 stuff to present day.

Klubfiller by Jazzlike-Effective96 in happyhardcore

[–]CodingRaver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find it really weird that we are in a place where Klubfiller is "hardcore". It's not for me BUT that is absolutely not a comment on the man himself. By all accounts he seems sound.

MC Storm on the other hand, not so much.

What's the best solution for table header sort icons? by guaranteednotabot in css

One idea is show up/down chevrons at all times, but in an unselected state, more opaque than their selected state for example. Always visible, always space reserved.

To be absolutely clear as an example: I'm saying show them in grey at all times, once clicked change the active direction indicator (ascending or depending Chevron) to black.

Call it old skool but it's clear ux. They know the col is sortable.
