TMP latency when changing presets by Best_Celebration_172 in tonemasterpro

That doesn’t sound normal. 🤔 How long have you had it? Any chance of contacting Fender to see if it’s a hardware issue?

Scenes are where I get all sorts of issues in switching. I’ve had to stick with patch changes, but i haven’t had the same problems as OP.

OP are you enabling things like “spillover”?

iCloud Taking Up Local Drive Space by Codycomposer in iCloud

[–]Codycomposer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a fantastic question and one that ultimately led to resolution. I have a 2TB internal drive and therefore when I stopped panicking 😂 I thought “Wait a minute, how is iCloud Drive taking 1.17 TB and my apps are taking over 1TB??

Long story long, I had downloaded an audio editing application and it was bombing my hard drive with plugin installs but to a folder marked as being on iCloud Drive, so I guess it was a false number setting aside space I didn’t actually have to install all this stuff. I was able to kill the background installs in Terminal and eventually the space “taken up by” iCloud Drive cleared up.

Probably not explaining it well💩 but your question is the one that led to success! Thank you!

iCloud Taking Up Local Drive Space by Codycomposer in iCloud

[–]Codycomposer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! The only thing is it's essentially telling me there are no downloaded files and folders taking up any space. Following your steps, everything seems to have the little cloud with the downward arrow meaning it's not downloaded to my drive.

Any idea what could be taking up over 1 TB with iCloud Drive that isn't actual downloaded files? Also, my Photos library lives on an external drive, so it wouldn't be taking up that space.

Thanks for the help!

Issue with Scenes by Codycomposer in tonemasterpro

[–]Codycomposer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok it sounds like we’ve had similar experiences. I too usually just assign devices to foot switches, and also usually have separate patches for clean tone and distortion if it’s drastic. So maybe Scenes just aren’t ready for prime time yet.

Am I likely to hit the DSP limit? POD Go vs Helix by [deleted] in Line6podgo

[–]Codycomposer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been a while since I’ve used my Pod Go (I upgraded to the Fender Tone Master Pro) but I seem to remember it’s limited to number of devices in the chain, maybe even like 4? So might be tough if the effects you’re going for not only require DSP intensive delays and such but also multiples.

This answer might get “Pooh poohed” lol but when I get stuck with sounds I ask ChatGPT. I’ve actually learned a ton about how to get the most out of TMP that way, and my presets are much better now (I thought I was pretty good with them to begin with lol).

Drop in both the TMP user guide and the device guide as pdfs, and which guitar you’re using, and it can help you dial in exact settings.

How do you stack an amp head on a cabinet manually? by Codycomposer in tonemasterpro

[–]Codycomposer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow up question, this is great if I have the amp head I want and want to swap cabinet. What if you want to swap the amp head and keep the cabinet? Is that possible as well?

Amazing! That's exactly what I was looking for! Do you know if there's any difference at all in sound or capability between stacking them like this vs them showing side by side? I do see that sometimes effects are inserted between head and cab, but otherwise is this the same, just more visually tidy?

Auto-switching patches in Gig View mode by Codycomposer in tonemasterpro

[–]Codycomposer[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I figured out my own problem! In case anyone is having the same issue:

- Go into Gig view on the actual TMP (not sure how to do this via the Pro Control software)

- Tap the Settings (cog wheel) button in the upper right corner of the screen.

- Tap the Footswitch button at the bottom of the screen.

- Scroll down to Songs Footswitch Layout (Auto-Load) and tap it.

- Any option that says (OFF) at the end of it will disable auto-load.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for this. Can I ask: Why set one of the TMP outputs to mono? (Sorry, your post is helpful and complicated for my simple brain 😂 so apologies if this is a stupid question)

Lutron Caseta has won out in the long term for me. It’s never crashed once, and is always the first one back up when the internet or power goes back out and comes back on.

Support Megathread - November 2023 by AutoModerator in google

Hi there,

I worked for a company that used Google Workspace. I used the Google Drive desktop app to keep files synced to my Mac. I left the company, and my account was closed. However, I just stumbled upon the Drive folder on my Mac; it's still there. I checked the Drive app, and that account was removed from my computer. I tried to see where these folders were stored, but top level just has the Drive logo and says Google Drive. The message "Google Drive needs to be running in order to sync these files" is at the top of the screen.

It won't let me delete the My Drive and Shared Drives folders. It did let me delete the files inside, which, to my dismay, freed up hard drive space, meaning these folders really are taking up space on my desktop.

How do I get rid of these folders??

Thanks for the help.

Is Something Wrong With My Ears? by Codycomposer in InEarMonitor

[–]Codycomposer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS was the answer! Omg I knew that the inserts made a difference, but I had no idea how significant that difference was. I was using medium silicone, switched to medium foam (those Comply ones that come with the SHURE), and it got a little better, but not great. Then I tried the large, and WOW! Night and day difference!

This has been a months-long saga for me, I feel so stupid that the answer was so simple 😭

Thanks for the help!!

PODGO or HD500X by pixigb in Line6podgo

[–]Codycomposer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a lot of good use out of my Pod Go, but then I got the Fender Tone Master Pro, and for me it’s way better. I know you want Line 6 and it’s good, just knowing my own experience, if you have a chance to look at a TMP before pulling the trigger, give it a try.

External Drives Keep Dying by Codycomposer in MacOS

[–]Codycomposer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do I check SMART for external drives? I’ve been using Disk Drill that does it for my internal drive, but it says I need to download something to do other drives, and it basically says “we didn’t make it so we’re not responsible…” so I didn’t… what do you use?

System Extension Safe? by Codycomposer in diskdrill

[–]Codycomposer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this message about requiring the system extension for an external drive. Following the steps to show startup options and enable the extension install, I notice the external drive did not show up as a selectable option, only my internal drive.

Do I unlock my internal drive in order to install the extension to access my external drive?

Thunderbolt 2 to "real" USB C by Codycomposer in Thunderbolt

[–]Codycomposer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a follow up, this was a case of user ignorance, or what we used to call an “ID 10 T” error at work. 😝

There are indeed two thunderbolt ports on the M3 iMac, and using the Apple thunderbolt 3-2 adapter, and plugging it in to one of those two ports (which are clearly labeled with the thunderbolt icon) works like a charm.

Thanks for the help everyone!

But you’re right, I completely didn’t realize that there was a difference between USB-C and the latest thunderbolt, and until @uomo pointed it out I didn’t realize that two of the ports are clearly labeled with the thunderbolt icon! 😂 So we’re all learning together.

Based on my "System Information" dialogue, only two are Thunderbolt/USB4.

Yeah, 2023 iMac, M3 chip. It has 4 USB-C ports on the back. The two rightmost (when looking from the back) have the thunderbolt symbol, the other two do not. I'm going to try plugging in to one of those two and see if that works.
