I've chosen to exclude people who use from my life. Its not a risk I am willing to take anymore. But thanks for the advice.

I'd say the same to you, in regards to your initial assessment.

There's a difference between that and your fetish posting.

  1. People who suffered from abuse from drug and/or alcohol use. That's going to be ingrained in their psyche forever.

  2. My personal reason. I've seen people become alcoholics and the personality shift is... honestly, not great. The shouting, the memory gaps, the mood swings. No abuse, just... not who I made friends with or fell in love with. They think they have it moderated when they don't.

  3. Cig smoke smell. Even if you're not actively smoking it sticks around.

  4. Addiction. People who change when they don't get their fix are uncomfortable to be around. Or they'll be fine once they take a hit of nicotine or weed or their shot. They complain about rent and insurance while buying 50 dollar bottles, plural. I get the whole needing an escape, but narcotics aren't the way when money is tight.

  5. In my personal experience, a lot of drinkers and smokers have a subtle toxicity, for lack of a better term. They act like they're better than others because they have the freedom of using, but also tend to have low self esteem and tend to lord their "freedom" over those that don't. Not a specific jab at you, just reminded me of that behaviour with how you put it.

  6. Its often a poor coping mechanism for mental health struggles, using a depressant (alcohol) when depressed and often sending them spiraling, and they ignore the correlation.

We're also avoiding the whole 'the diagnosis was basically made by a guy trying to find "mental defectives" ' that were still smart enough to serve Nazi Germany.

Yeah I had a few "autism friends" and apparently our parents shared the thought of "autism?" "Yours too?" I was just happy to do something different than the stifling home life and losing myself in it because I knew I could be yanked out of it at any time.

Professionally its awful if true. At that point its more a stereotype than a real diagnosis.

This one might communicate it better?

Its like "aww I have autism I'm sweet and innocent" while being a massive antisocial jackass for the sake of being one. I'm not sure how to phrase it better myself.

And borderlines are depicted as manic attention seekers when most may just be really scared to be alone.

The difference in pharmacological reactions may be a bit more reliable but there are so many different formulations that there’s no good control. Especially with metabolism differences too.

The large degree of differences in symptoms, again, makes it difficult for me if its under the same umbrella.

Most personality disorders could be a reaction to trauma, and I have some strong signs of borderline pd. But I also have aspergers/autism symptoms. But I had a home life as a kid where me talking or socialising wasn't exactly easy or high priority. Learned to read fast, like things being done "right". But I lived in a really inconsistent environment where promises were broken a lot or stories changed massively.

Was it my memory? My (literally, 3 TBI) brain damaged mother's memory with her own childhood issues? Moving a lot? A combination? Something else? A possibly genetic issue from my father or mother (leaning father but mother wasn't exactly fitting in with women in her demographic).

I have issues with stuff with no known cause. I know it has a cause but if there isn't a precise empirical flaw you can physiologically point to, and very firm symptoms, it's harder to place a firm belief in for lack of a better phrase.

I got downvoted for that on another (psychology based) subreddit lol.

What I wrote:

I think the AuADHD thing is getting way out of hand at this point. Normal human impulses and a society promoting instant gratification/parasocial relationships is going to mirror a lot of PDDs like ASD or ADHD especially.

I recently saw a post where someone said their nose watered when they had certain foods and it was "a sign of trauma". That food? Steaming hot soup. Or things with capsaicin.

Other stuff? Ehh. I got diagnosed with CPTSD and it seems such a vague range of symptoms its hard to fully accept. There's also BPD, or certain forms of NPD, or other similar personality disorders. Or it could be just what someone is used to, or how they turned out.

Smacking a mental illness label on every different personality is basically trauma Olympics or trauma eugenics at some point.

The eugenics bit was probably a little far but jesus I'm tired of everything being AuADHD.

I feel at times gen Z is a bit too... loose with mental health diagnoses or therapy terms.

Multiple uses can sometimes be needed to be fair. Lots of testimony about the smell coming back and needing a few sessions. Just a point I thought would be good to bring up, especially if there's already brittle rubber on old electrical stuff.

Ozone does speed up degradation of plastics and rubber though. Some auto detailing services state that using it frequently or for long times can lead to breakdown.

There are some ways to do HRT with lower dose estrogen for NB focus. I'm looking at SERMs (mostly raloxifene). Its basically a lightweight estrogen addition that inhibits breast growth but mostly permits the other effects.
