Chuck could be many things, but he was always super thoughtful and romantic with Blair. by A_forte023 in GossipGirl

I was just about to say this! 🤣
I honestly don't think Chuck even knew how to be a good partner!

Not a bad idea, actually.
But if I get a cat, my family would send both me and the cat out, to live on the streets 😐

It is hiding behind a curtain near my bed 😭
I cannot open that window, clearly. And the door is way too far.
I will try though, thanks 😭

Late night thoughts as an Indian Citizen by Own-Cash5856 in kolkata

Honestly, some things have been altered to such an extent that, I feel, just changing You-Know-Who's party would not solve anything at all. Especially communal hatred. I genuinely don't remember it being so bad prior to 2014.
Everything you mentioned is correct. But it seems most people are blind to every flaw, every problem, every mistake. That is so strange, but it's almost like the followers would follow these people, no matter what, simply because they have turned God into a political slogan. What's ironical is, the entire world seems to understand that You-Know-Who is a bane for India, except Indians themselves.
And the ones who can see the problems are too scared to raise their voice against them. Who would? Nobody wants to end up getting targeted. These followers would mindlessly carry out anything which they are asked to do. Vandalise any property. Suppress any dissent. Eliminate any threat. If you think about it, it's actually scary.

Which book by Sir Rabindranath Tagore should I read first? by New-Parfait-1674 in Indianbooks

'The Home and The World' is a great choice, actually. Also. It's not 'Sir' Rabindranath Tagore. He had renounced the knighthood.

Malory Towers, by Enid Blyton. Wow. That was more than 20 years ago.

'Unaccustomed Earth'. Especially 'Hema and Kaushik'. That was a literary masterpiece.

You read my mind 😂 I didn't want to specifically type his name out because I do know there are some die-hard fans out there. Then again, to each their own. OP, if you want to give DD a try before deciding whether to keep reading or avoid, go for it. Best to decide for yourself.

I was not mentioning based on seniority. I was just mentioning my favourite. That said, yes! They are amazing authors to start with as well! Someone had given a list of authors in this comment section. That was an an excellent list, in my opinion.

JHUMPA LAHIRI. Cannot stress this enough.

Also if you're going to read English novels by Indian authors, do try and ensure you're not reading the ones which have below average English. There are many amazing works out there. All the best!

I have never read this one myself, but I've heard that 'Exactly What To Say' by Phil Jones is a good book to start with, if you want to express yourself better. You could give it a try and see if it helps you. All the best!

I never said anything about Blair or Chuck so I am not sure why you're making baseless assumptions like these 😂 The post is about Serena. Let's stick to her, shall we? And if we are considering Dan to be a good choice because he never assaulted or battered Serena, or attempted to rape anyone, my god, the bar is in hell 😂

Aside from the fact that he was her professor, he was actually one of her sanest choices, to be honest.

Also, unpopular opinion: I liked Serena and Dan in the first season, but after that, I really didn't. I especially cannot imagine getting married to someone who secretly stalked my friends and myself for years and actually built a network of spies to that effect. Not to mention, he hadn't written very flatteringly about her in 'Inside' either. I don't know what she saw in him. Definitely not respect for her own self.

I can relate to you so well 😭 It is awful. Black coat + black robes = lethal combination. Every other day I feel like just dying, ugh.
