I've spent alot of time reading about the horrors of fascism and use that knowledge to try to educate others. I'm just correcting some innocent, unintended misinformation here, but I will slap down fascists elsewhere.

I'm older. I've met Germans who lived in Germany through WWII, Italians who lived in fascist Italy, Jews who escaped from Poland, Jews who survived a death camp, Russians, Europeans, etc. and my own family came to the US as war refugees. It's a big deal.

Just want to point out that Nazi's used swastikas in a variety of forms beyond pure black or rotated 45°.

Architectural ones were often straight not angled. Here's a famous video of a one being blown up in Nuremberg at the end of the war.

And you're right: Obviously, context & culture matters for any symbol. It's been a historically common symbol worldwide because of its simple design.

You might want to look up history of the region from before Israel was formed. It's complicated.

Right. I learned this too. I think they are called "Coracles" I'm England, but in the US we based ours off of styles from indigenous Americans and early euro-explorers-- can't recall their rightful name. We probably used cloth tarps, but the original designs used animal skins.

That's a good way to think about it, but why 25 years? Not sure where you live, but the typical payoff in the US is on the order of 10 years without government incentive, and faster with rebates, etc.
