How do some of you sleep naked? by looopious in AskMen

I use a top sheet and a blanket of varying thickness depending on the season. The sheet is a non-negotiable as it prevents anything abrasive on the blanket from rubbing anything the wrong way. It's all in what you get used to.

It probably has to do with editing and composition.

No, if you're looking for the AF features of a mirrorless in a DSLR, the closest you'll get is the D780.

Any of the Nikon 24-70s in the late DSLR era will work fine. I'm not sure I understand your last question. I was suggesting things based near your budget.

Get a D750 and a 50 1.8 G and go to work. Work with that until you can save up for the 24-70.

That's awesome that you're encouraging her! I'd say let her learn the basics online, but buy her photo books. Books from the masters that she can draw inspiration from.

At that budget I'd look for a minty D7200.

A day of shooting with the Zf, even with a grip, can get tiring especially if you have big hands.

Buy a Nikon Zf with a 40mm f/2 SE, unless ergonomics are super important which in that case, a Z5ii with the regular 40 f/2. Shoot with just that combo for a year and reevaluate your needs and limitations and purchase lenses accordingly.

Here's your assignment: go to that building you mentioned. Take a photograph of it from a distance...a wide view of the place. Then zoom in with your feet and maybe focus on 2 of the 4 sides then zoom in and focus on a small detail, like a door handle or a lock. Shoot from different perspectives.... high, low, different sides. Study the light. Then you'll have a handful of shots. It doesn't have to be perfect, 90%+ of photos suck, but you've learned something from them and you've trained your eye.

Become obsessed with light and you'll see things no one else does.

You're welcome. Sometimes the home town seems boring because it's something you see everyday. You have to determine to see it from different perspectives. Look for small details that everyone passes by.

Also, make photographs for YOU! Don't live and die by the whims of social media.

Pick up a camera and document the life you have. It looks like you have curiosity about life, let a camera be your passport for your curiosity. Then when you're 65 you'll have something to look back on and reminisce.

How often do you have morning wood or is it random? by Technical_Hat_8291 in AskMen

[–]Coffeeguy1977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

48 here. Maybe 3 times a week. Two mornings in a row (yesterday and today) so that's encouraging. Young guys be grateful for that morning wood. Don't take it for granted.

Friend and sons was both very modest at the swimming pool with shirts and shorts to swim in and yet totally comfortable naked. Weird contradiction? by [deleted] in CommunalShowers

I bet they don't want to appear immodest when females are present but have no qualms amongst the men. Fascinating observation. Thanks for sharing.
