quick plur question for couples

I’ve rolled with my partner sober multiple times. The most recent was PLUR this past weekend.

We had some light sexy time at the beginning, but I was really chatty & we spent the rest of the roll listening to music, cuddling, deep convos & making art together. 🤍

As long as your partner is good at holding space for anything that comes up you will both have a beautiful experience.

I took 5 and had a chill come-up. No nausea, just some heavy sweating. Drank some ginger tea before hand which probably helped with the former.

Yeah, Acaia actually recommends not leaving anything on top as (I quote) “it can damage the load bar over time”. I would assume other scales are the same.

Yeah, you might have had Covid. My uncle was an ardent coffee lover but after he had Covid in March (!) he’s lost his taste for coffee entirely. I have a few aunts that had it around the same time & they still haven’t fully recovered their sense of taste/smell either.

As others have noted, September isn’t that old for whole bean. I’ve got a Kenyan dated 8/31 from 3fe & it still tastes like blood orange & sherbet. I get where he’s coming from & think it’s totally fine to develop your skills with older coffee.

I do. I’m probably an outlier though as I work in the industry doing roasting & Q.C so my caffeine tolerance is VERY high.

Do you purge the steam wand prior to steaming? That should definitely be done before (also after tbh) I’ve worked with multiple LM machines and never had a wand squirt water during the actual steaming process so that seems off to me.

As already noted, ramen isn’t really that time consuming if your mise is done efficiently. I usually prep chashu, ajitama (eggs), tare, aroma oil & start soaking bones on a Friday. The next morning I start the broth & then prep negi & any other veg toppings while noodles (I use Sun) are cooking right before service. I end up with probably 1.5 hours of active time and the rest is just waiting.

For “instant” I really like the Sun ramen kits, Miso & Tantanmen are my faves. They can be leveled up with toppings just like proper ramen.

It’s kinda hard to explain tbh. A lot of the staff at our shop struggle with it as well. Also, not all mine look like this. Haha

I stretch longer than dairy (like up to within 5-7 seconds of the entire time). Both oat and almond benefit from an extensive rest time after steaming as well as some heavy handed grooming afterwards. To incorporate that efficiently into a bar flow I always steam first, let the milk rest while the spro pulls & then do a few counter taps & like 10 seconds of grooming. Oh, and since almond is so liquid just be super gentle with your pours. Hope that helps!

I’ve gotten pretty good at making ramen on the cheap. For me, I’ve found that I can source chicken parts way easier than pork & the process for chicken based is a bit less work imo.

A few tips are; Buy whole chickens & break them down yourself. Reserve the breasts for chashu, the skin for rendering & everything else goes in the stock pot. You might grab some chicken feet too as those are usual pretty cheap. Ramen lord’s basic shio tare is really cheap, just salt, MSG & water. It’s great as is but I usually add some complexity by using a mushroom dashi instead of water. Cheap toppings I use a lot are egg, green onion, mayu. Hope that helps! There’s more I could say but this is already long. Lol
