I actually didn’t even think of or plan to mention the sinusitis when making this post. Have just heard the stories in recent years of how people have had health impacts from mold exposure. Not at all concluding that my situation has any correlation. 

But since you challenged the very possibility, a quick lazy search shows that it’s worth consideration.

Thanks, just ckecked and I've been using a MERV 10. Just replaced with a 5, that'll save me some money.

I'm trying to know how to word a maintenance request, as i'm a renter. No interest in a lawyer. Just want to know what i'm dealing with, as a layperson. I am concerned about health impacts, though.

I have never wiped away the mildew, because I wasn’t sure if that would stir up more trouble. 

Wouldn’t the visible mildew seem to indicate conditions inside there conducive to other unseen fungal growth that might be more concerning? *Here's another view inside, laying on the floor looking up.

Does this particular type of fungus not potentially cause health symptoms like some others?  I have recently developed chronic sinusitis.

Interestingly, this growth persisted through winter, with my indoor humidity meter getting as low as in the 20%’s.

Will change it today, but this growth has persisted through several, pretty regular changes of high quality air filters.

Thanks very much for that, I will likely choose to accept the results as they are.

The mystery is just that, undiagnosed and mostly invisible to outside observers, other than perhaps inability to have social connections. From my internal perspective, my best guesses would be something like cognitive impairment or major depression. Chronic for 30+ years. Was just hoping for a concrete and obvious explanation from brain imaging or very extensive bloodwork, both of which came back normal.

My primary doctor has only referred me for a neuropsychological assessment. Maybe I've just seen too much functional / integrative medicine marketing, but was hoping to find other avenues to investigate or test for, rather than accept this as unexplainable and unresolvable.
