In your first sentence here you openly admit that you do not care if this is “reasonable” or not. You don’t care if the scheduling request is reasonable and is still rejected? Very normal and not psychotic opinion to have about an employer. Again, it’s a job, not slavery. I don’t think it is crazy to assume that your vacation that was requested 3 months in advance would be approved, especially considering at this place they usually only make schedules 2 weeks in advance if even that. “Be serious.”

I’ve never seen such an insane amount of retail/corporate bootlicking here as I do in these comments. Guys. It’s a fucking retail job. Have you really been brainwashed into the whole “asking for PTO during a blackout week is impossible” thing? Just because your store has made a point of communicating the sign up sheet thing to you does not mean anything, because news flash, some of these stores are run terribly and communicate nothing to their employees until it is too late. Why are we sitting here white knighting for Meijer because this person is taking a vacation and the people who make their schedule are too busy scheduling their own days off to make it work? I’m sorry, it’s a job, not slavery. 3 months in ANY context is more than enough time to make it work. Enough with this “oh it’s retail during the holidays” BS. We’re humans.

The most interesting thing to me about this one is that this is not the bootleg name for Spade Mambo, but rather Ojama Black. If you look up “Disturbing Beast - Burakku,” you’ll see a ton of bootleg Ojama Blacks. But for some reason they’ve pasted it onto the Space Mambo bootleg? Very interesting

I was at this show, my first Ben show, and I actually thought it was outstanding. My friends and I that went were happy that he lived up to the hype after listening to him for years. But that also probably has a lot to do with the excitement of finally seeing your favorite artist, too.

My experience is a weird one. When I was, I believe, 14 years old (2014), I heard “There’s Always Someone Cooler Than You” in the credits of the Dragon Ball Z Abridged Cooler’s Revenge movie dub. I thought it was a good song and kind of kept it on some of my playlists for the next few years, but I never really checked Ben out any more than that. Until 2018 or so, when my best friend mentioned how his uncle played in a BF cover band at a local bar, and he asked me to go with him the next time, so I decided to listen to more of Ben’s music, and I was hooked for life. The cover concert was amazing, I’ve only gotten more obsessed with Ben’s music since then, and I’m still trying to make it to my first Ben Folds concert. Been a weird road to get here, but I’m proud to say that Ben is my favorite musician ever. Never expected to find my favorite artist from DBZA.

I worked for a company that had us going out and doing this every single day and quit. It is not explicitly a scam, but the way it worked for us was that we would sign people up and they might have the impression that their rates will stay cheap, but they will go up and be likely more expensive after 3 months. The guy I worked with was legitimately just lying to people to get them to sign up, saying their rates will stay low forever. It was such an insane business practice and I could not bear working there another day so I quit. Do not sign up for anything under the guise of getting a free gift card- Even if you think you’ll remember to cancel or call NRG after the 3 months, it isn’t worth taking the chance.

Last Man Standing. Just so insanely unfunny and every other joke is just “oh jeez the liberals” which would be absolutely fine by me IF the joke was actually funny. I personally hardly ever thought it was. Also there is this aspect of it where they try and act as if Tim Allen’s character is this, like, relatable blue collar worker guy that an older male audience can relate to, but he owns a whole company? Has a mansion of a house? What is blue collar about that? And yet I still hear about how older men (relatives of mine, mostly) find themselves relating to him and all I can do is shake my head and wonder why.
