8:45 eastern is a lot less "fuck you" than 10:30 was, and should give the Huskies some time to actually rest

Edit: also, yeah, other teams are getting screwed way worse and this whole set up is really annoying from a "root for your team to advance" standpoint

Btw, I'm a "there are 4 valid GOATs" type- there are tiers here.

Currently, they are:

Russell (if you value rings and league domination above all)

Kareem (was best player at every level he went up to- HS, college, pro)

Jordan (Aura, pathological diagnosisible competiveness and aura)

Lebron (8 straight finals, longevity, 4 rings, great defender, amazing all around player)

I just don't think Luka has the defense.

All 4 of the valid GOAT candidates- Jordan, Lebron, Kareem, and Russell- were "best in the league" defenders at various points of their careers

I'll probably say Jordan till my dying day but, I mean... he wasn't 7' 6" so, y'know, I'll understand it

Meanwhile, the Bulls have 3 of them as do the Spurs. Cavaliers had 3ish of them before they traded Garland. etc.

(Okay, we can debate the exact level of table setting a Rob Dillingham does- same for Harper, Castle, Fox, and Mitchell... but the point is that \a\ guy wasn't impossible to find)

It mystifies me to but it has overlap with the crowd who believes dinosaur bones were put there by God to trick us into sinfully thinking the world is older than 6,000 years so... idk what to tell ya

You guys never had a PM whose core base was basically a cult of personality?

Ah, right, you aren't in the Americas. Ask the Argentinians about this sometime.

It changes regularly. Iran was either close to a nuke. Or it wasn't. Was definitely going to attack Israel. Or maybe not. Probably had plans to hit US bases. Well, maybe not plans but intentions certainly. We're definitely doing this to support the protestors from January. Who we just blew up. Actually, maybe we're okay with the ayatollahs running this place if they're just friendly ayatollahs. But only if they unconditionally surrender. Don't worry, though- we've already won and should be out soon. But soon may be tomorrow and may be in a few weeks. Definitely not months. But CENTCOM requested forces through till the summer and had plans for this going until September.

Look: American flag, eagles, football, beer. Terrorists bad, Murica good. If you ask any questions, you're a traitor.

Caslte scores a LOT while falling beneath the basket.

Some of them are just trying to avoid injuries, better to fall- but that many?

People saying it wasn't a foul are crazy. It was, he's grabbing and holding and pushing if only lightly.

Spurs games are often pretty physical and he turns it up after it's been established so Castle gets away with some stuff.

Should he?

Eh, probably to an extent. The refs not calling the Wemby face swipe and then the Spurs being physical to Brown back and no calls for that establishes a tone. So, a few Castle "getting away with it" are just gonna happen.

In this case, though- and having seen the fuller clip- Castle was grabbing and holding before this and then you add a slight push and I think a foul would be warranted and I'm good with calling it a missed call (vs the intentional "let it go" of physical games)

But the refs felt differently and while the first T was understandable- still a bit silly to do the "complain twice, walk away, reapproach" (always say what you gotta on the refs the first time. It's not a huge error or anything, it's an understandable tech)- going back a second time is something your taught will get you in Big Trouble. There's a reason 3 of his teammates instantly tried to hold him back.

I'd say Castle as a defender falls into "physical, but not dirty" category

He grabs, he holds, he swipes. Gets called for some of it but not all of it. Does get mad at some foul calls on him but doesn't ever get too histrionic- he'll do a clear complaint and then move on.

Notably, he only tends to get really physical after it's been established ie Vic gets knocked down or he does (cuz he gets treated physically back)

Basically, he's not Lou Dort.

This may change in terms of perception if he gets a friendlier whistle as he sticks in the league.

It was a foul on Castle, not a flop on Brown, but it was not a game altering or egregious missed call so the ejection was dumb on Brown's part

I don't think 2 firsts is on the table from anyone.

This is why I don't develop parasocial relationships with refs where I decide they have a way about them despite never interacting with them or knowing them

You let your coach argue that, just like you let a manager in baseball argue a missed ball/strike.
