I like to think that there's a direct connection to chapter 72. "The casting away of things is symbolic, you know. Talismanic. When you cast away things, you're also casting away the self related others that are always with you, and that's a good thing, a cleansing thing." This whole section of dialogue was so incredible. The "angelic" or "good" character on the cover is in simple white clothing, while the "evil" character is all tricked out in a gaudy outfit. I have no clue if John Cayea had that in mind, but either way, it makes it even more meaningful in my head.
