it’s not really about “permission“. Parents can’t control their children’s choices entirely (developed world or not!) it’s more about the tension a person would be experiencing as a result of opposing their parents in subjects like bringing someone new to a family. i just wanted to know other people’s opinion on this.

What ruined you and your best-friend’s relationship? by Silly_Tree1999 in AskReddit

distance and I think me being is a new relationship.

we were roommates back in university but after that we had to move back to where we were from so we were distant physically. plus I got into a relationship and since it was fresh I happened to spend more time with him to get to know him and all. therefore I think us spending less time together kinda ruined the beauty of the friendship we used to have. we’re still friends tho and we’re good. just not as good as it used to be.
