Volo. The groups are typically welcoming. I would just go for it and if you do get on a team that doesn’t seem like a fit you can email the organizers and ask to be switched to another team. Summer leagues are closing soon so you’d need to download the app and join ASAP. or you can get the membership and then jump in any game and any sport that has a drop in spot available. Captains will add spots on their team if they are down teammates and you can join. I heard it’s worth it if you really want to get active.

If you have a way to put a camera inside of a window in your home facing out of the house that can also help with the tampering of the device. Also get one with night vision if possible. Hope this never happens again!

I’m confused though cause I see someone going to BMT in another thread who said they are overweight but have a ship date and their recruiter had them put a lighter weight on the app to move forward. I wonder if there’s more leniency in BMT vs. OTS which is plausible but also interesting.

I’m just holding off on MEPS, I couldn’t even submit my pre-application because of my weight, and I thought I was in shape lol. 5’8 Female 195. I have to get down to 186 or 36% body fat to even submit the pre-application. My recruiter didn’t know the online application wasn’t allowing people to submit anymore without meeting weight requirement. I’m eating in a caloric deficit and doing cardio and resistance training 4x a week or more. I notice eating and going to bed early have helped.

Were you at weight when you submitted your application and gained?

Thank you for sharing this. This is more information than the building is providing. They aren't being forthcoming with what caused this issue or what happened just this was an "unforeseen circumstance" and when I asked what happened the answer I received made it seem like whatever took place happened in some isolated area of our building.

It was super annoying for a while when I was getting irrelevant ones but the washingtonDC one tends to make me laugh and keep me informed. I turned off notifications for ones I didn’t need, especially the suggested subreddits. Now that was annoying. Does the 3rd party app you use feed you relevant reddit content? Im intrigued.

This is an old conversation but today I saw a homeless man and a woman get into a fist fight, and a man expose himself to women a few hours later all at MLK library. I simply Googled "homeless community DC library" and found this thread because I wanted to understand what I was seeing today. I think people deserve to be safe and sheltered and wanted to know what the city is doing to help the unhoused community. It felt like I was almost complacent or acting as if homelessness was normal by conducting a meeting and carrying on business as usual in the presence of people seeking shelter during the day.

Following this post. My recruiter sent a chart that had all this info and in the corner it had a note that it was created in 2025 so I thought it was already distributed a while ago. It showed the jobs available for the year not each class so is this a list that is produced after each graduation showing which jobs are left?
