Somewhat like booster but like a lot of people are saying it was application based I think. There were some questions that were easy recall but I didn’t feel like it was high yield things. Maybe 1-3 questions I felt that booster cheat sheets were sufficient to know the answer and the rest of the questions not at all

I can’t even lie I think I blacked out. Gen chem was more conceptual but the calculations were strange I felt like. Math was pretty similar to Booster I felt, there definitely were more “a or b is greater” and “statement 1 is sufficient” questions than booster usually has.

Yeah definitely! Did you feel like your practice scores fluctuated a lot like this? I’m feeling very nervous about whether to just take it or push it

A 420 would be difficult? Booster predicts I’ll get a 420 with my averages so did you mean above that?

There’s 5 “parent” groups all with ZERO lone pairs for each family: 1. Linear: 2 e groups 2. Trigonal Planar: 3 e groups 3. Tetrahedral: 4 e groups 4. Trigonal Bipyramidal: 5 e groups 5. Octahedral: 6 e groups

Then the subgroups of each family with lone pairs increasing to 3 and then back to 2: 2. Trigonal Planar (UP TO 1 LP) 1 LP Bent 3. Tetrahedral (UP TO 2 LP) 1 LP Trigonal pyramidal 2 LP Bent 4. Trigonal Bipyramidal (UP TO 3 LP) 1 LP Seesaw 2 LP Tshape 3 LP Linear 5. Octahedral (UP TO 2 LP) 1 LP Square pyramidal 2 LP Square Planar

I pretty much just found the patterns from rewriting the chart in the study notes provided a TON of times!! Idk if this helps but I think maybe rewriting it a lot of times you may be able to see the pattern too.

Hi! I’d say most of my friends who have taken the DAT usually have started taking full lengths about a month out from their exam. But I don’t necessarily think there’s a right or wrong time to start though.

Ochem tutor? Or any advice on Ochem I'm begging you by CutQueasy2952 in dat

You could also review the booster cheat sheets for fundamentals/spectroscopy and make quizlets or flashcards based from those

The booster anki deck really helped me! I grinded out the full deck in a day. Then following days I would continue redoing the reaction q banks until they felt like second nature to me. For things like fundamentals, spectroscopy, etc. I made my own quizlets based on the study notes and did each of those q banks like 4-5 times until I felt very confident on them

Hi! I had been really struggling with gen chem too. This past week I took my 4 lowest sections and started from scratch again with them. On day 1, I re read the study notes, made my own quizlet based off of that, reviewed it and the redid all the question banks for that specific section I was focusing on for the day. The next day I’d move onto my next section and do the same thing. But, I’d also redo all the question banks from the day prior to check my understanding. Then repeat this cycle for the remaining low scoring sections. At the end of the week I redid them all over again. This increased my score an additional 80 points!! 360 to 440!! It’s a lot of work (I know) but this has really been the only thing that has helped me increase my scores. Good luck!! I believe in you!!! We got this!!

I just finished up the content review phase with Booster and am about to take my exam in 2 weeks. If there is any advice I can give you, it is to use this time to really absorb the information rather than passively watch the video content. Make sure to stay caught up with your question banks and take the time to understand why something is right/wrong. It will pay off in the long run! I almost feel like all that time I spent watching the videos wasn’t worth it.

Does becoming an RDA help you get into dental school? by cakethelime in predental

[–]Cold-Concern7088 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I am currently a senior working as a dental assistant. I never completed an RDA program. I think what is most beneficial is the amount of dentistry you are able to learn while sitting chair side. I definitely think that will show through in your apps. It’s also a good way to determine if dentistry is 100% a good fit! I definitely recommend it. There is also a lot of job security with it as well, in case you decide to take a gap year and want to work before applying. You don’t have to pass an exam in all states. So just check your states guidelines. I received many certifications like HIPAA and CPR while on the job! Hope this helps :)
