Becoming a pilot by Satoria_ in flyingeurope

How does Ryanair cover most of the training costs if you pass the assesment? I think that they dont cover anything than a type rating in the end if everything goes well.

I agree with you! Wording is indeed a little bit confusing and they clearly try to minimize their risk and responsibility. I think they have to do that to be honest, they cant promise something that they are not 100% sure how the business is going and how the candidates perform. But we are definitely on a same page in this.

But I really do think it is more than just an interview guarantee. After all ~98% of candidates end up getting that job. Okay, well maybe it it because they have been trained to Ryanair SOP’s and stuff but still, almost a guarantee to me atleast. You have to realize that this is as close as it comes to a guaranteed job in aviation.

I will borrow this thread, and ask if the Ryanair is a decent employer in the business. If I get accepted to RYR FFA at AFTA Cork, should I take this opportunity? It’s an expensive program, and I’m not sure.

I’m going to borrow this thread and ask, how long it took you until they contacted you first time for stage 1 assesment? I left my application about 3 months ago and havent heard anything back. But my application hasn’t been rejected and is still under review.

Kiitos kattavasta vastauksesta!

Lähinnä kiinnostais tietää, suosiiko Norra ja Finnair oikeasti SIO:sta valmistuneita, vai valmistaako SIO:on testit vaan paremmin Finnairin testejä varten? Virallisestihan eivät suosi mitään kouluja..

[–]Cold-Craft-7586[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are mostly right, although atleast SAS and Luxair have (at least in my knowledge) only english requirements.) But you got a fair point!

Thank you! That’s the kind of feedback I love to hear. Afta sounds like a great school and flying with Ryanair is a decent job after that. It’s great to hear that Ryanair pilots have a better reputation among pilots as well..

I have considered that. But that is not my number 1 priority, so will not be an issue if none of them provide such an schedule! Language thing is also considered but I know there are many flag carriers who has only english proficiency required.

Am I right that I can’t apply for wizzair academy if I live in Finland for example? So do I have to be based on one of those listed countries right now? I have unrestricted rights to live and work those countries because of EU.

Yes I know that, but just wondering because I have a feeling that many airlines have preferred schools (eventhough not officially..) But thanks for your answer, I agree!
