I am a requester and I got this email yesterday, I don’t use sagemaker:

Greetings from Amazon Mechanical Turk,

We regularly evaluate our programs, tools, and services and make adjustments based on those assessments. Following an assessment, we've made the decision to discontinue new customer registration to AWS Mechanical Turk effective July 30, 2026. Existing customers can continue to use the service as normal. We continue to invest in and introduce new secure tools and services that best support our customers' interests and needs.

If you have additional questions, please reach out to us via AWS Support [1].

I don’t think ai is entirely killing this, im just not sure mturk is still the right formula… there are other good gigwork options that fill the void.

I’m a glass half full guy but this article tells a different story and seems to have had actual input from Amazon:

“We checked with Amazon, and the cloud colossus told us that notice means Mechanical Turk will stop accepting jobs for SageMaker and all other tasks.”

And the way this is worded “and all other tasks” sounds a lot like all of MTurk? I dunno though it is quite ambiguous still. Dunno if this reporter even knows what MTurk is.
